What are the mech requirements for ER PPC?

From my earlier experience with Mechwarrior and Battletech and Mech Commander the only restriction to mount a PPC or ER PPC is that you have enough weight free and enough energy slots.
The Adder, a light mech can mount ER PPC's. So weight class should not be the problem.
So why can't I mount ER PPC's on the Nova?

Afaik you can only mount big guns as a replacement for lower arm actuators in clan omnis in the lore. That is a design restriction. Not sure how it works in this game. Never felt any reason to go beyond standart omni-pod configurations offered.

Its about slotconfig. When i remeber right a PPC needs two slots (basically a "bigger hardpoint") and the nova has only tons of singleslots-hardpoints in primeconfig.

It has to also be a 2 slot sized energy hardpoint. The Nova's energy hardpoints are all 1 slot only. Unlike MWO, they sized the hardpoints on the omnipods in this game. So you can't put LPLs and ERPPCs in as many omnipods as you could in MWO since those are the only clan energy weapons that take more than 1 slot. So not only do you have to have an energy hardpoint, that hardpoint must be a 2 slot hardpoint. Same for the Gauss rifle, some of my old builds are alive (and VERY well in this game) while others are dead. If you want to boat PPCs wait until you get the Warhawk, its default loadout of 4 (remove the TC and put more armor/heatsinks) is powerful in this game. I just couldn't stop losing arms though, same as the Nova. My starmates lost arms in those mechs like it was their job.

What Kain said is accurate. Some weapon hardpoints are size-limited. The nova has 12 energy slots, but none that will hold an ER PPC or large pulse. There's a little number in a diamond that tells you how many slots are required/given.

I just doublechecked hardpoints in different omnipods in different location. And yes, i was right, just like in the lore - big guns only go into arms, just as they should be on omnis. Missiles are special case here though.

I know the weapons have a size and I can see that size on the ER PPC, ER Large Laser or Large Pulse Laser is two slots. But how do I see that the slots on the Nova ain't linked like they are on the Adder?
Edit: I found it. To the left of the slots is a marker for type with lines to a slot or several slots if they are linked. Did not see this before, just read the type on the slot rectangle.
