Why is turning so slow in modern controls?
Sensitivity is already maxed out by default but turn from side to side to aim is extremely numb and sluggish, I don't hate classic but wanted to play modern as it makes it easier to slow down and get behind cover in a pinch and do some of the more sensitive stealth stuff in this game so far and like games like Mechassault a lot so when I heard there was gonna be an option to play that way I was excited but while it does make taking less damage easier imo the turning speed is kinda ruining it for me.

Is turning realy faster in classic mode? Maybe it's because mechs just turn very slowly.

Mechs turn way too fast in this game. It feels arcadey as hell.

Mechs are way too agile in this game. They react too quickly to changes in throttle. I'm okay with their torso movement, but I miss Mechwarrior 3 (I think it was 3) where I controlled the aim with mouse, and torso, and direction of movement independently.

As dumb as it sounds: Move your mouse more controlled which basically means slower in modernized mode xDD

Damn, the whole modernized controllmode is a shame overall xD

I'm with the others here, the controls are too fast. Needs to slow down a bit.

That's classic controls. You can still do that. I use the same control scheme I used for mw2 and mw4.

I can't play the game right now, but I'm prety sure that mouse moves the entire torso in the classic controls. In MW3, it moved only the aim. The weapons were gimbaled, rather than fixed on the structure.

Unlock arms, hold down alt. Not a perfect recreation as you'll loose torso control, but it exists.

Hmm. Nice. Will give this a shot as soon as I'm back home.

just use the classic controls, and yo have it like any other mech game...
mech 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and even MWO had that.
this is the first with 'modern' controls, and that sucks...

They also change direction instantly in modern controls! This is so jarring. You can wiggle the left stick and the mech just twerks left and right.

I noticed a definite change in "modernized" controls between Mercs and Clans: under Mercs mouselook is limited by torso rotation rate and turn rate governed your ability to maneuver, but under clans your mouselook seems to be limited by turn rate (not torso twist rate) instead which is usually MUCH more sluggish.

Maybe this was intended to balance the ability to do impossible direction changes (going forward 130kph then instantly going backwards 80 kph) with modernized controls, but I wish it was like Mercs except just make maneuvering lega under modernized obey the same rules that apply under classic - no instantaneous reorientation or direction changes but the legs actually have to rotate, forward momentum actually has to slow down to a stop before you start going backwards,
Etc. I know there's a gyro but come on!

They are clan mechs. They are supposed to be faster then IS mechs. That's one of the things that seperates them from IS mechs,
