The old battletech anime is propaganda but had its own romance.

Snord was probably the goofiest clanner to ever be, he never reveled in combat, he just liked stealing things, and did so gleefully until the heart attack. The bounty hunter (or at least some of them) DO revel in combat to the point of actually moonwalking and doing other show boating things in the lore.
Solaris combat is reveling in combat, clanners don't do that, when they fight its always for business or to solve a problem. The IS has alot more reveling in combat compared to clanners... its literally the reason I don't like clanners, they take all the fun out of the fight. (I do like this game tho)
Normal humans solve problems mostly by talking and making concessions, you wouldn't say that earthlings revel in making concessions.
You need to get your lore from something more than the memes.
Edit to add: lol when was wolf from wolfs dragoon ever shown as a big burly guy who reveled in combat... he's literally a clanner.
The clans, they're clans.
Clans is what people had when cave people.
And all science fiction is somehow origin from Tarzan. With a princess of mars being a copy of Tarzan.
Which is coming from Gilgamesh legend about a man from the jungle entered the ctiy. Being struck down by the gods known as comstar.
These clans are wild men. Who left civilization behind. And they're seen as barbarians who only understand snu snu and behaviors we left behind in our nature.
They only live 30 years, they're competed by younger women and men who challenge them in duels.
But it is a contradicting. How can they be both the old civilization and the new barbarians. The clans split into two groups.
The wardens and the crusaders.
The crusaders became lustful of acting part of human nature without the society experiment.
The warden are authoric. And since the clans don't understand anything of their ancestors. And you don't need clothes in space. Neither are there societies in space like on a planet.
The isolation kept the warden and the crusaders each other in check.
So you get people who try to modernize the lore by making it into star trek.
But what happened really was the lack of a society you got a twisted version of law since the law is going to be totalitarian when used in practice. I demand justice and is swift and quick. No better than an overgrown gorilla.
If we could choose our court system would be = sentenced. Next.
They're part of a political party and has to control the narrative.
But also they're opposed to waste, very honorable, follow the terms of bachalls that are honored. Wait, how does that square...?
One of the planets on the Ghost Bear invasion route offered a trial through a game of American Football. The Bears sent a team of elementals (outside of armor), destroyed the planetary team (as in the score), and the planet dutifully accepted the win and came under Ghost Bear control without bloodshed.
Most Clanners are classists, arrogant, prideful. But they're not bloodthirsty.
As far as them being pretty-boys? Young clanners are all pretty. It's part of the culture. They're the product of many generations of gene therapy and selective breeding.
