Oct 17 Patch Update

I have done a cursory search on the inter webs this afternoon and I can not seem to find any info.

That being said why do we have a 42GB steam patch 12 hours after release? does anybody know?

patches will always be big for UE games that are packed in the way that mw5 is, the functional patch data is probably like 100mb lol

it's likely just optimization and crash fix issues for hardware edge cases, but this is an assumption.

You had a 2GB patch and the 42GB is the pak file that is being modified. Look at what it says in the downloads next time and you will see two separate things.

I am showing a 5gb DL for a 42gb update. It ran a little chattery last night, esp when warriors were talking during campaign but really only during the tutorial mission. Aside from the phantom floating Summoner head and missile pod everything seems okay.

I just wanted to play this some more on my lunch break, not stare at a DL screen T . T

You'd better get used to it - that's how the game packages on UE work during updates. The same thing was happening with MW5:Mercs causing quite a fuss of annoyance every time :]

Looks like, at a minimum, they've fixed the custom control configurations not saving.

mine shows as a 2gb download. but yeah 12 hours after launch a patch is not unusual due to the fact that it's nearly impossible to QC with very combination of hardware that exists out there, particularly on a crossplay game.
