But "above room temperature IQ" AND "4090" doesn't exist, mate.
I've played about 6 hours so far and i'd say it's worth playing. The actual gameplay is great, very similar to mechwarrior 5 mercs but it feels a lot smoother to me, some of the missions have been pretty challenging on the hard difficulty.
The only real issues i have with the game is the lack of proper tutorial (not a big issue for me but i can imagine new players would be a bit confused) and the voice acting is a little bit mediocre in places.
Can't say my IQ is above room temperature but hopefully this helped
The game is great and exactly as advertised. You're a member of Smoke Jaguar on a mission to kick some freebirth ass. It's a new game, not Mercenaries with clan mechs.
If you listened to them, it doesn't require cutting edge hardware. The minimum sysreqs on steam are below 20 series cards. The recommended is a 20 series card.
The fact that people are acting like the sysreqs call for 30 series minimum when the recommended is 20 series is kind of telling with regard to how poorly optimized this game is.
AI is DERP - Expect your team to not do anything useful and get in your way.
Sound is fine - Voice actors suck... maybe they should have taken a bump of coke to get some energy in their words.
UI - Is cumbersome as fk trying to equip mechs and just move around menus suck.
Game play is big stompie stompie..... there are repair bays but I had to IGN a level due to my AI team getting killed and no repair bay's.... made the final boss impossible.
Story is alright so far... but voice actors really really really hurt it.
I just had a crash to desktop post mission... so I don't know if I have to redo it.
If you are a hardcore mech fan you already own this.... if you really aren't .... wait for a sale
We are coming up on the winter sale.
Edit: I just checked the minimum specs and they're lower than even I assumed, OP's blowing smoke.
I mean, they kind of have a point. The only people that seem to be able to run this game consistently above 60 fps are people with GPUs that cost over a grand. Everyone else is having serious issues with the game right now.
Processor: Intel i5 8400 | AMD Ryzen 5 2600
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: 6GBs VRAM | NVIDIA GTX-1060 | AMD Radeon RX 590
Recommended Specs are:
Processor: Intel i7 8700 | AMD Ryzen 5 3600
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 | AMD Radeon RX 6700
My Specs are:
Processor: 5800x3d
Memory: 64 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Super FE
Performance issues experienced:
Stutters when quickly turning
Sudden large changes in framerate when enemies spawn in
Frequent pop in mid mission and during custscenes where it would show a low poly low texture model to suddenly replace with the high detailed model accompanied by a frame drop.
Sound issues:
Audio sounds crunchy at times like it's low bitrate
Audio becomes slightly muted whenever someone is talking, which is most of the time
Audio is generally quiet, with an almost negative amount of bass.
Voice acting issues:
Everyone appears to be doing straight line reads with no context or coaching. Lines come out slow and flat at a single volume.
Animation issues:
Face movement is almost as ridiculous as world of warcraft.
General complains:
It's a story campaign with no skirmish or alternative modes. You are paying 50 for something you would probably play through once, maybe twice with friends,
Compared to MW5 Mercs you are getting a lot less game for the price.
Also might just be me but convergence also felt a bit wonky with the summoner's arm mounts feeling quite a bit lower than I'm used to.
