Is it not unusal that we are not able to choose how much front or rear armor we want Qaff?
like the title says... is there not a way for us to choose how much armor we want on the build?

They kept with the lore when it comes to omni mechs. Omni mechs cannot modify armor values, reactor size and some other "hard wired" equipment. They have pod space for everything else, but certain parts are defacto baked into the design

It's normal by actual Battletech rules. Very rare for a Battletech video game though. They almost always let you change it.

I'm glad they did this. It is lore accurate. I'd love if in the add-on packs they introduce the IIC variants alongside the Omnis and allowed only them to have those modifications.

You can modify how much armour your mech has with ferro armour plates in the equipment store, armour comes in 1/4, 1/2 and 1 ton modules that can be added to spare general slots in each Omni Pod. Your pods have a maximum amount of weight and available slots on a per pod basis. Adding an extra ton here and there is well worth it early game with light mech survivability.

dude we were 3 missions in getting squad wiped by the stupid VTOL boss fight (WHO TFs IDEA WAS THAT!!) before we spent like an hour messing with the omni pods loadouts before we figured it out.

F++K that stupid bossfight, somebody needs a smack up the head.

What. So you'll are telling me there are no engineers who can strip or add plating to the mechs? Would any engineer who can repair the mechs not be able to adjust the plating?

Reserved to pick this title up (yet). This is another souring of this.

I don't think the guise of "lore accurate" will fly. I can only see that they might want some omnipods to have more armour and obviously perks like in MWO is not logical (as where is that much armour coming from without any weight?) All speculation currently, but hardlocking minimum and maximum would allow for the same result.

Additional point is that it is a PvE game Why not allow the players more customization options?

You can add extra armour plates INSIDE THE OMNI PODS! Its right there, every omnipod has a bunch for empty general slots for armor and crap!

The lore will be the downfall of this game. Sorry to say but its boring asf the ratings will drop.

i just wish that the maps were not so much on rails.. they limit movement alot and force passage in canyons.. i miss the freedom of movement from Mercs.. this is 1 thing i feel they absolutly dint do well... level design... Yes we wanted a more story driven game.. but not a Tiny cramped map... Where you cant even use the advantage of range etc... i have to say mercs had better maps for sure.

Hard to beat the depth of mission design in MW3s campaign, some of MW4s set piece missions were great too, despite the age and clunkiness. Even if the Ai was dead and the render distance was pretty horrid, the missions had alot of freedom to approach different objectives and evolved in stages.

Should've brought 2 Viper A's :D
Just apply more cERMLs to the problem.
Can't wait to unlock Nova Prime and overheat myself into the next expansion.

Tried the ERMLs, couldnt unlock the viper chassis at that point, only unlocked the adder. Actually had more success after up armoring everyone and swapping my ermls back to mpls an SSRM4 and more MG ammo. Smoked it with only one idiot in the red.
Still, they need a smack in the head for that inane ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. PGI need to stop smoking meth and go back to coke.
