Well, it depends on perspective and who you ask.
To many in the inner sphere, the clans are the baddies only because they invaded.
For the clans, the histories of the inner sphere, and in particular Terra, had been embellished to mythical status over the generations and they wanted to return "home".
However, some clans were benevolent and believed Kerensky's vision for them was to live their lives as clans and let the inner sphere do its thing - but help it in times of need, such as external threats. These wardens were outnumbered by the crusaders and so the crusaders invaded.
But remember, Kerensky exiled himself and took the space police (SLDF) with him because of the incessant infighting between the houses. In essence, he was an uber good guy fed up with the ♥♥♥♥ from the great houses, so he left and started a new culture.
Ego, to members of most of the inner sphere, the clans are bad guys. However, the clans views on the the inner sphere are mixed.
So, those that don't know anything about the lore are a tourist?
Yet you mock those that thought clans were good guys.
Tourist.
warden clans bad but better then crusaders mostly on par with IS factions.
IS factions mostly bad (each one is a varying degree of bad)
Like I'd say the FWL is probably the "least bad" but that doesn't mean they are "good guys" they are just trying to survive the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ constant fighting that is the Inner Sphere.
