Though I did not mind the trend of unexpected encounters for that whole arc.
They could have just done a named heavy mech if they wanted a proper boss fight.
IMO they should have just made us fight a dropship. It would have made more sense.
You can make them target the engines.
Lorewise, this thing does not even exist.
Superheavy combat VTOL's in Battletech range from 30 to 60 tons, larger superheavy VTOL's exist but are unarmed transports.
Finished the mission with 70-80% health on all mechs. Standard loadout.
I got unlucky. Ordered the star to specifically target the engines multiple times but instead they stood still and bent over to more properly receive its AC5s, leaving me as the sole mech actually shooting at it.
It was probably the AI bugging out. Still beat it, but in the end it made the fight feel unsatisfying.
