Does it also advance cycles?
You can replay missions in the screen with your star, if you click on the simulator in the middle you can select missions or load up a shooting range or practice matches to test builds... I've not tried to rerun missions so I do not know if they give xp and won't have time to try until tomorrow so that will have to fall on someone else lol
edit to add: And there are cycles between missions, I doubt the simulator replaying missions advances cycles. I haven't tested it but it wouldn't make sense for it to advance a cycle, you're not moving a mech around and fitting it up you're just turning on a fancy arcade machine so it doesn't take up time.
As far as I know, it should still count towards mech milestones as well, but I haven't tested that myself.
Kerenskies
Resource components (I think chests are an exception, at least if you never grabbed it before)
XP for your honor level
Mechs do not remain damaged afterwards
Research and repair progress
You do get:
Heavily reduced Xp for your Mechwarriors (as in 1/3 or less and Optional Objectives might be a one time Xp bonus, and if so you get more like 1/6-1/10 normal Xp)
Mech Chasis Xp (unsure if this is also reduced)
Mech Chasis achievement progress
Maybe chest/scan specific loot (might be a one time thing)
Replaying missions is only worth it for completing Mech Chasis achievements, doing all the bonus objectives, if you need a 100 or so xp for an upgrade, or testing/having fun without any story progression. Which seems fine as kerenskies and honor don't seem too sparse unless you go overboard.
You will get a drastically reduced amount of components from completing the mission, pilots get xp and the kills count toward Chassis milestones
So Im a little confused as i just tested a sim mission and got 3 bonus objectives but i did not receive the 240XP i was supposed to get for them, at least it wasn't given to Jayden. All i got for XP was the mission completion/dmg/kills XP. Do we know where the XP from the bonus objectives actually goes?
Jayden had 582XP before the mission, 3 bonus obj is 240XP and then i got 391XP for doing the mission but when i went back to Jayden after the sim mission he only had 973XP. So either i got a bug or bonus obj XP doesnt go to the pilot.
I've found out that, unless my game bugged out, you can get a max of 30 components per sim mission (I think in addition to getting any chests again, but not sure), so sim missions still aren't really worth farming too much other than for chassis milestones and a small xp boost for your pilots. Overall you seem to get about 1/6 the rewards per sim mission compared to story missions, not counting bonus objectives.
Santander Missions, 80 Pilot XP per Advanced Mission Parameter
50 for completed mission
25 for survived mission
~25 at least for damage dealt and kills (depends of course on details)
Then 80 for each Adv Mission Parameter.
Comes to ~500 per mission for 3500 Pilot XP per pilot (over 7 missions)
Also, 40 Mech XP x 7 = 280 Mech XP + any Milestone bonuses
Turtle Bay Missions, 120 Pilot XP per Advanced Mission Parameter
Plus the ~100 Pilot XP per mission (itemized above)
Then 120 for each Adv Mission Parameter
Comes to ~700 per mission for 5600 Pilot XP per pilot (over 8 missions)
40 Mech XP x 8 = 320 XP + any Milestone bonuses
Courchevel Missions, 160 Pilot XP per Advanced Mission Parameter
Plus the ~100 Pilot XP per mission
Comes to ~900 per mission for 8100 Pilot XP per pilot (over 9 missions)
40 Mech XP x 9 = 360 XP + any Milestone bonuses
Courchevel Missions (Inspection Duty and beyond), 200 Pilot XP per Advanced Mission Parameter... and so on.
This is a great way to level up your pilots quickly, unlock omnipod loadouts, and get those mech chassis upgrades! You are missing out if you neglect them.
