Prospective buyer: Did they fix the difficulty?
I hated MW5 Mercs’ difficulty. One lance taking on 20 mechs, vehicles, and bases. Is this version more balanced like classic MW - MW2,MW3, and the first mercs game?

If this is another MW where you need to PPC everything from a mile away and avoid damage like the plague please let me know so I dont waste money.

Thanks

The game has very little difficulty, even on expert. This isnt a good thing.

Tell that to the 60% of the playerbase stuck on the Sokal lol.

I've been playing on 'expert' difficulty and the AI are dumb as rocks and will walk right into the middle of your star and get gang-banged.

What the higher difficult does do is make them squishier and make their weapons do more damage (which is completely unlike the experience written about in the fiction as inner sphere tech is far outdated compared clan tech)

As far as how many at a time, I have not been pounding 20 mechs at the same time, they are broken it groups you encounter as you progress through the maps. The maps have been relatively closed without large open spaces which would restrict such a large number of simultaneous mechs from running around, but this may change as i get further into the game.

You'll still wipe out hordes of enemy mechs but now it makes sense thanks to the Clans technological superiority.

I swear it's like the new devs never even played MW2 or M4 Mercs, those old games were so much better.
I feel like we played a completely different MW4. There were loads of missions where you were outnumbered, sometimes badly. This is clan invasion on top of that, so it's completely accurate to be outnumbered

Whose idea was that? They need a smack in the mouth.
They had that in armored core as the first boss.

Once you hit draconis combine.. some of the missions are a massive smack in the face in difficulty.. and heir to the dragon is espeically horrendous likely being one of if not the final mission on that planet... and I have been stuck on it the entire day on normal mode it is ridiculously difficult

Here it's much worse. You'll get many heavy lances put against you one after the other.

Did you finish the game? I'm probably near the end now, playing on Normal, and so far I had to replay 4 missions. The amount of enemy heavy lances the game puts on me is unbelievable.

Yup, same thing, I using cheats, and lot of enemies throw out, I could not believe any normal player would beat normal level (I just used cheat to speed up, due real life time, I had no time for replay mission if mission fail, I'm not in mood for that, so that's why I cheat (I was playing normal level (not storyline or easy level) to test to see what kind of enemies throw out and that's seem hard for on normal level, cheat is great to test game and save lot of time in real life time, avoid failed as well avoid waste time replay missions, but way I see, no way for normal player beat normal level without failed without cheat, it's so many enemies mech vs your 5 mech. It's like 5 mech of your vs 20 to 30 heavy to assiast mech along support throw at you. I can tell that is not normal level supposed to be or normal design suppost be, it's should be limited maybe 10, not 20 to 30 enemies heavy to assiass (heaviest) Mech! ( along heavy airship combat, it's crazy)

Umm... do you think it's too hard or too easy? I can't tell.

At any rate, since the Dragon's Gambit update they have a much more detailed difficulty setting system. You can make it as easy or hard as you like.

You can also 'adjust' difficulty with drop tonnage since there no limit anymore.

Wat makes you think you should be good at a game the first time you play it?

I guarantee if you keep playing, you'll get better at the game. This thread is full of people complaining about difficulty and running out of ammo and Jesus Christ. I know it's steam forums but come on guys...

He is saying it's bad, not that it's difficult, it's immersion breaking, the individual enemies require no skill to take down, they just march into your face.

Are you talking about this game? You only have 3 difficulties (2 really) and fixed tonnage limit.
