Man that Launch trailer sure has a lot of Girl Bosses...
How woke is this going to be? I smell a DEI consultancy :/
โพสต์ต้นฉบับโดย KiTA:
Woke is a spectrum. Not every game with a girlboss or non-European character is woke. Samus, Sarah Connor, and Ripley were awesome. (Of course, they're not what you're talking about when you say Girlboss, and we both know it, but, yeah.)

You're not wrong to be concerned, especially with the state of the Battletech IP nowadays, but I haven't seen anything that really makes the skin crawl. We're not seeing random clanners announce their pronouns before addressing the player or anything, for example.

The only thing that makes me hesitate is no Career-like Mode or Mod Support at launch, but I can wait for the inevitable update or DLC for that.

I get that, I feel the same way about people who cling to their fantasy pronouns as if their life depends on it. We should all desensitize a notch or two for sure :cozybethesda:

For real, my guy. I'm in a private channel right now full of elite English literature professors. It was convened for the sole purpose of analyzing your masterworks here on the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Steam forums. They are all utterly astounded by your ability to read the things other people type and respond to them, explaining what you read and how you processed the information.

Dr. Archidbald P. Nutterson just now stated, "He reads one thing and, through some magic of imagination and artistic interpretation, converts that thing into something entirely different, something new and glorious. It is at a point where the words on the screen matter not to this master. Only his deeply intellectual and philosophical replies are of any import."

I agree completely with Dr. Nutterson. Your ability to rewrite reality, altering it to a more flavorful state that entirely disregards the original foul sentiment, is truly remarkable. I am intensely envious of the blessed souls who know you in the actual world. Oh, to be part of that consecrated flock. To be able to actually smell the wonder. I am indeed becoming emotional.

I must go now, my friend. I hope this message finds you well. Our correspondence will remain in my heart and in my mind until at last I draw my final breath. One can only hope, no pray, that I can carry your discourse with me into the great beyond. Farewell and godpseed, you, noble academic.

The Clowns Below

Mister Hubbleton, stern and cold,
Once danced in colors, bright and bold.
Now at his desk, his circus unseen,
He rules the forums, sharp and keen.

But down below, behind a lock,
Three clowns are trapped, lost to the clock.
Their laughter fades, their voices still,
They write his words, against their will.

He gives them water, a balancing ball,
Echoes of joy from when he stood tall.
Yet what he controls, he does not know,
The clowns below, they are his own show.

For Mister Hubbleton was once like them,
A clown who laughed at every whim.
Now he writes, but they still play—
The circus never went away.
The split overall looks 50-50 (female to male). The leader (for now where I am in the campaign) is an angry black wahmyn with cornrows. She is fairly unhinged, and mistakes yelling and bullying subordinates for leadership. Maybe it is something needed for later in the plot. I dunno, in most games and media (movies) the female leaders are often this way, overbearing bossy angry substituting as strength because writers have no idea what leadership is or what a military outfit feels like. The mission briefings certainly could be more professional, but hey maybe that's the way that clan rolls.

The story is following 40 year old lore to a T. The clans are just like that, but there are way more straws for you to grasp if you are desperate to get angy.

Yeah, they've added her just to adhere to modern DEI and... Oh wait.
That's Sarah Weaver. She's been in the lore for... Ugh... 32 years.
False alarm.
Will there be a woman that covers her breasts and speaks to me as an equal? My masculinity can't take that kind of MATRIARCHY.

/the problem isn't female characters.
//the problem is terrible archetypes across the board
DEI isn't real. Yall just are so miserable with life and cannot comprehend why you just can't enjoy things anymore. Why you can't have fun or feel fulfilled with anything you used to love. Instead of doing introspection and realizing your internal issues and problems you need to fix, you just blame the easiest targets you can find. Then when a game has a minority or woman in a large role, yall literally piss and ♥♥♥♥ yourselves crying. It's sad. ($100 says most responses will be some form of "hurrr Why you care enuf to coment den?!?!?!")
People who says all that is not woke are either woke themselves or blind.

A little too late to come up with wild claims like that, LMAO. Yeah, people are miserable because rainbow-Marxist populism has taken the place of real social issues.

The people in power love this ♥♥♥♥ because it means they don't have to actually do anything of substance. Instead, they can keep destabilizing states and countries with lies, smoke screens, and other tactics to make everything a little worse, just so they can self-justify their existence and stay in power.

So, we were both yapping a little on here, doesn’t this help? Doesn’t this make us both feel a little bit better now? :)
There are teammates and commander yelling to each other in the battlecomms, but hell... I do not pay any attention to them when I am directing my star in this mayhem, taking care of not being cored due to a loss of armor in th CT, for example.

And I certainly do not know how these morons do find time to yelling at each other in the middle of a bulletfeast...

Makes more sense between battles though. Where I am usually saying me "what the f...?" when suddenly the lead character goes softening some crisis I was not even aware of having happened, due to my foresaid battle concentration.

You mean Sarah Weaver? She's been 'girlbossing' since the sourcebook "Invading Clans" was released 30 years ago in 1994.

She is an established character. She has always been black. She has always been female. She has always been angry. She has always been unhinged.

They did not change the personalities, skin colour, gender, dangly bits, or anything else about the characters you encounter. With the exception of your Star mates, every single character you interact with existed back in the early 90's when the Clans first make an appearance in Battletech.

I could even tell you how Sarah Weaver dies if you want.

With the Battletech Universe it is absurdly easy for the Dev Studio to pander to the HRC without using an outside consultancy.

Q: So is there pandering going on?
A: Possibly.

Q: Does the pandering violate canon?
A: Mostly not.

So unlike Wokehammer, Battletech is relatively unaffected by putting girlbosses in charge, especially the clans. The clans are all genetically engineered except the freeborn. Effectively Piranha can make the HRC happy without unduly impacting their IP.

On that note, the difference being that "woke" is identity driven Marxist propaganda that excludes a particular identity group from having agency. Many people think purpose of propaganda is indoctrination, but it is actually to make you feel alone and excluded if you are the "outgroup".

I actually learned psychology techniques and used those to get rid of my depression (which I had since I was 12), this was 9 years ago, I also got rid of a lot of other things that made me feel bad in any sort of way. I am now confident, upstanding, happy and friendly to people.

Wanna know a cool tidbit about this?

When I was depressed and full of emotional issues, I have welcomed diversity, girlbosses and all this other crap that is making all these big AAA titles, be it movie or games, flop hard.

Now that Im fixed I dont like those things, they feel unnatural, alien, wrong.

White people only make up 8% of the Global Population,
black people on the other hand are 19%,
indians are 17.50%,
Chinese too are 17%

Henceforth White people are a minority unlike those who you call "minority".

Thanks for playing chap.
