Just discovered you can save custom loadouts in the omnipod screen

In the omnipod selection screen, there is an option to 'save current loadout' and this gets saved as an omnipod config. This really helps so you can have custom loadouts per chassis per star mate. It's not obvious, and is really welcome. I've been playing Battletech since the 80's (I am 50) and I feel like the game does represent the Clan build ethos really well, and folks are underselling or not understanding the system.

I encourage folks to find the old Battletech book 'Shrapnel: Fragments from the Inner Sphere' if for nothing else, to read Jordan Weismans (the creator of Battletech) foreward to the book. He explicitly states that a specific goal of the Battletech system was....simplicity. He felt that too many mechanics was a way to mask over poor design, and that he wanted to leave room for the player imagination, rather than count every rivet on each mech.

Some things may not be communicated well, and people naturally react when their cheese has moved, but this title represent a major step forward for PGI launches. Some of you were not around for the Epic games release of your beloved (and mine) MW5. Folks really flipped out, and...it's a damn good game. I get that everyone want more content, that's a good sign, but it's clear this product represents a major retooling at PGI, and they will grow into the new tools.

Yeah, I noticed it awhile back. This game does a horrible job explaining the mech bay functions.

This really helps when swapping a chassis between starmates, you can just load up your load out for that pilot on that chassis!

The mech bay, while different from Mercs, really isnt that complicated to figure out, I dont know why so many people are complaining about it. We're supposed to be the most tech-savvy generation in the history of humanity, and we can't take a few minutes to figure out the fkin mechbay...

But props for the tip - I know a lot of people have been looking for something like this

It’s not complicated, but it is not obvious either. Coming from Mercs, I just assumed there was no such feature as there was no load out saving there. Glad to see it here, I see a lot of complaining but this is something the community has wanted for years, and now that we have it, I just want to make sure folks were aware.
