Paywall for multiplayer?

Who was the genius that thought that one up? And how much will it be? If it's free then it's all good but this feels like stuff being held back to sell later to me.

multiplayer is mechwarrior online, and it's free to play.

it's a good F2P model, too. the only thing you MUST spend real world money on are new mechs within like 6 months of release and exclusive cosmetics.

they have a premium currency, but you can get plenty of that just playing the game and collecting monthinly event rewards.

i've never spent a dime on it, but i have something like 27 mechs, including pretty much every variant of every classification of marauder, my favorite mech.

He is referring to new DLC/Update that was announced, which I am guessing you missed based on your response.

or something you don't want to pay for..................was there anything about multiplayer in the ads before the game game out ?..................i am assuming you don't mean co-op because that is already included in the base game.

Bro, give up. You are sounding like an employee at this point. Having to pay for PVP is really dumb. It's fine if you want to buy it but this should have been in the game at launch. The game is a little over a month old and they were able to implement all of this in that time? Nah, it was finished and just held back to sell later. Defending this is almost as bad what they are doing. You do you.

MW5:Mercs didn't have PvP. PvE is still available to Clans for free. $20 for PvP and a horde mode sounds a bit steep. $10 sounds reasonable.

I would also like to know what we get for beating the horde mode. Cash for your campaign mode is worthless, so the only thing that would be valuable would be research points or salvage.

Considering it's a five player arena mode and as such very likely designed around being able to play it with your friends, the addition of being able to fight your friends was also likely just an added bonus. This is not going to be some full fledged MWO level PvP mode.

So do not worry, you can unclench.

Not sure where the modders are but this is huge. Maps and Mechs can be added. Eventually some one should get a YAML mod for clans. PGI has created the framework for a community supported online mode.
