clan smoke jaguar... yikes
im not sure how they plan to incorporate DLCs when this clan get wiped out in about a decade...

Why not Clan Cloud Cobra? or Clan Coyote? or Clan Diamond Shark? or ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clan ghost bear??? (rassalhague dominion ftw) or even Clan Goliath Scorpion with the interesting concept of a periphery/clan melting pot??

Hell id even take clan jade wolf or Star adder or snow raven...

Cmon PGI, Jade Falcon is probably the least popular and liked of the clans, partly because of their sheer stupidity.

You think that Coyote, Goliath Scorpion, or Cloud Cobra are anywhere near as popular as Smoke Jaguar or Jade Falcon?

Considering this is about the Clan invasion, they don't actually have a very large choice. Basically you've got Wolf, Jade Falcon, Smoke Jaguar, Ghost Bear. Nova Cat and Steel Viper only got added at the very end, and as for the others, well, they weren't there at all. It's less popular/unpopular and more about the conflict being depicted.

In fact, given the sheer popularity of other Clans, Smoke Jaguars are probably the most interesting option. They're basically the nastiest Clan in that time period, and had only ever been villains, as opposed to others, who got to appear in MW2. I wouldn't be surprised if campaigns for other Clans were added later as DLCs.

Fair enough, but why did they even choose smoke jaguar in the first place kinda puzzles me.

Oh well, as this point i dont care (anymore) i just want a much better game than mercenaries.

I also find that decision curious, but you can fit a lot of action within a decade. I welcome this decision, because starting with an unusual choice of Clan means it's more likely the story will be interesting. It would also be interesting to see Smoke Jaguars up close, hopefully give them at least some redeeming qualities, right now they're not particularly well developed.

I imagine we'll get other Clans in later DLCs. At least the four original invaders, Nova Cat and/or Steel Viper would be a pleasant surprise, but they only played a bit part in the invasion.

Wolf, Jade Falcon, Smoke Jaguar and Ghost Bear were the four main Clans to kick off the IS invasion and out of those four Smoke Jaguar is always the LEAST talked about followed by Ghost Bear and the ones that have hogged the spotlight in regards to the Clan Invasion is Wolf and Jade Falcon...We've had games featuring Wolf, Jade Falcon and Ghost Bear but none that feature Smoke Jaguar so giving the last of the main four Clans involved in the first invasion is long overdue in my opinion.

MCs dad in MW5 was a clan goliath scorpion seeker caste, i'm sure we'll run into something that ties that together.

Also its mentioned that our lance in this will be a clan star, if one point in that star isn't a chatty hyper aggressive elemental squad im gonna be real real disappointed.

Emphasis is mine.
The Twilight of the Clans book series does that fairly well (at least on an individual level), especially the first book. I highly recommend reading that series.

These were the first battletech books I read and they compelled me to check other battletech novels.

I would love Clan Ghost Bear :-)

As much as I effing love clan Ghost Bear, I think clan Wolf would've been *the* choice for this game's story. And they could've worked in the Kell Hounds.

Wolf is not the best choice because nobody wants a game where the enemy is the KungsArme. Jags are objectively a better choice because they get to invade an actual successor state instead of the Free Rasalhague Republic.
Wolves are boring anyway since their whole thing is that they don't act like a Clan. That's not a good pick for a game which is called Mechwarrior: Clans. Maybe if they make like five other Clan games after this one then a Wolf one would be okay as contrast, but not now.

Clan Wolf invasion arc is literally "I show up therefore I win!"
It's absolute Mary Sue nonsense. They don't have to work at all for their victories which honestly makes them insanely boring and not something you'd want to make a game out of it.
If I was to make a game from an invading Clan perspective Smoke Jaguars is one I'd have as a top pick just because their invasion arc is a bit more interesting.

So much to learn about mech culture and that is a good thing.

Ghost Bear would have been my choice just to get my paws on a Kodiak! I was hoping they would delve into the Exodus or perhaps the Wolverine's saga (Greek tragedy) and then the return starting on the Periphery.

But Ghost Bear have already had a mechwarrior game done for them as have Wolf/Jade Falcon, only one out of the main four during the first Clan invasion that hasn't is Smoke Jaguar.
