So how is the game these days?
I have to admit I uninstalled this game a few months ago, frustrated by the lack of communication by the devs and the glacial pace of new patch releases.

I have to admit though, the devs seem to have stubbornly sticked with it. What is the state of the game these days? Worth a retry?

Did they ever manage to get on top of that mess they made when trying to fix collissions? I mean, is enemy FLAK are threat again? Are enemy fighters dangerous? Are your guys hitting with their bullets and making actual damage?

Suggest you reinstall and try for yourself.
It won't cost you anything.

So use the mouse and keyboard. Controls are coming but they're a bit off yet.
The planes fly themselves once you start the mission, really all you have to do is sit and watch and jump in a gun position when attacked. :)

Im aware of the AI flying the plane but I used to fly with a joystick and throttle set. I never had a desire to use the keyboard and thats not what the original game was designed for. Guys I dont mean to sound harsh here but if this game released as EA without true joystick support that seems like a pretty big oversight.

The Wayward original supported (out the REAL box) MS Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 , MS sidewinder 3D Pro. I know, I used them with it.

Yes, I know.
I'm a 69 year old kid.
I played the OG way back when. I had, (actually still do,) have a forcefeed back stick.

I am still waiting for this game to be released .... seems to be taking a while :steamsad: First of many old MP games I would like to see revisited or preferably completely remade. I also still have a MS Sidewinder FF Pro Stick. Looks like I will be using it in a few weeks with the new MSFS24 game before this one.

The new graphics look great. I just would like to see more bombers .... more enemy planes, and more intense and varied AA than the original game had. New map graphics/target graphics with better environmental rendering with haze in the distance etc wouldn't go amiss as well.

Are these things being worked on at all?

I reinstalled the game and I'm impressed at how it's taking shape. The B17 model looks fantastic and the instrument views are really great to look at.

Christmas tree inside the plane is coming ;) But you must play at least 120 minutes to get it (I am joking, just in case) :steamhappy:
