Why the review bomb? It's literally early access
One reviewer said 'not ready for early access '

Do people really not know what early access means? It's an unfinished game.

I think people have just forgotten because some games stay in early access for decades and people think that early access means a full release with patches.

Someone would expect that people are capable of reading the store page. Not.

I down voted it because it's got issues that existed in the original and because some basic functionality doesn't work.

-Can't assign rudder pedals
-Can't assign look left, right etc to POV switch on my T16000m
-The bomb sight drift keeps resetting itself with no input from me (while in manual control). This issue is inconsistent.
-Some of the views work but then when you snap between them, they stop working
-The pilots instruments are identical to the original despite interiors having been improved

Long story short, paying $15 for some upgraded menus and for it to work more easily on modern windows isn't worth it when I could just play the original.

Early access doesn't wash anymore for me. This was announced in 2022 and after an hour in game I don't see any meaningful improvements from the original. That's a long time to achieve this outcome.

Microprose have announced titles that have remained in "coming soon" for months, if not years. Their communication around this release was a disaster. I don't have confidence that they'll bring improvements to this game in a reasonable time frame.

I've refunded but will keep an eye on it and if they prove they're capable of not just making improvements but doing so in a reasonable time period (i.e bug fixes over the course of weeks, not months. Feature additions each quarter etc) then I might reconsider buying it.

Because the value of money they paid is for present, not future.

It is only 15 bucks, I've looked forward to this for a long time. The improvements they have done are good, now let's see how it progresses in the future. It was clearly communicated what is included and what not.

They did a great job by porting the engine to 64bit and also to DX12. And as it works very nicely this indicates that the base is good for what is expected in the future.

Yeah some things don't work, if you want a finished product don't buy early access. You want' a better product in the future? Buy early access and give feedback, that's what early access is for.

This game is not not starting, not totally broken or totally unplayable.

My rudder pedals for example do also not work, reason to review negatively? Not at this point. Reason to say "hey my pedals are not working?" yes. Because at this point of time feedback is needed.

People wish for an overhaul version of this game or maybe a next one and the first thing is not even an hour after release make bad reviews because it is not in a finished state year (EARLY ACCESS!)

Bugs from the original game being carried over into this after 15 months since announcement isn't acceptable. Possibly tolerable if they'd been better with their communication.

A big part of early access is having confidence in the developer. I don't.

I gave a negative review because even as early access it's far too unfinished. I have even more bugs with the early access then with the original game to the point it's practically unplayable. Literally the only benefit is the full-screen works and it has widescreen support.

The game is in early access not in release version 1.0. Could EA have been better? Yes! Is it time to write off the game not even a day after EA release? No.

We have to wait and see now if they do improvements on a regular base and hear for our feedback. If not your critique is welcome.

Early access isn't an excuse for all downsides. And notice all reviews now have an "early access review" tag. This is pretty fair. Developer offers an EA game and users give EA reviews. Developer updates game and users change reviews.

I would never argue that EA is an excuse for all downsides. But their had been plenty of much worse EA releases then this one.

"Bomb"... haha I see what you did there, well done sir, well done!

You are right of course, but I think the bigger question is why are there even these meaningless "reviews" posted at all when it literally released hours ago, far less time than a single bombing-run mission across the English channel (e.g. the idiot with 0.3 hours in game)?

Attention seeking much are we? Hahaha! What a bunch of morons, nothing to see here :D

I wouldnt say this is review bombing, this is really not even a "redux" its just a quick look new TV series lets re-release this half arsed attempt.

I still have hope for the ACTUAL game of Bloody 100th but these days Microprose are hmm lacking...

A redux shouldn't be early access in my view. I don't think I've ever seen this approach before for a redux title. It's not an unfinished game, it's a finished game being tinkered with.

If the project really is such a challenging undertaking it needs to be early access they'd have been better off concentrating their resources on the 100th and VR games.
ACG_Macro Jan 26, 2024 @ 3:00am
one of the reasons they should disable reviews until after release.

You realize, that this is a real niche game? I think we can be happy to see a redux and maybe a next version of this.

Genuine question, aside from the developer stating what they’re going to add, what makes buying this game right now as oppose to waiting to see if they actually do the things they say they’re going to worth it? Because I’m just not seeing anything in the 3 missions I played.

I don’t mean “supporting the developer”, that’s always struck me as something people say when they know they aren’t satisfied but they have to convince themselves they haven’t thrown their money away.

As in what is it that makes it enjoyable to play and therefore worth playing right now? Particularly if you already have the original.

It’s not so much the $15 for me, it’s more that I have limited time for playing games and there’s far better ones out there (also niche) to spend my time on.
