Interested but..
I adore Microprose, I pretty much bought every game they released on the C64, Spectrum and Amiga.

but buying this. it doesn't seem right. No box, no manual, no quickstart guides
Microprose manuals were absolutely legendary, heck I even bought games I wasn't interested in playing (ie: Microprose Golf, Airborne Ranger, Covert Action) just to get the manual, they were THAT good!

it's just not the same digital only, why not consider a limited run of boxed versions with thick manuals? I'd preorder that for sure!

It's a different time. I still have my manual from the OG version laying around in a box somewhere collecting dust.

A Different time for sure and added cost to the publisher.

Slitherine does that. I bought War in the East 2 with hardcover colored manual, around 500 pages i think. For more complicated games it would be nice to buy that for additional $.

There a several excellent YouTube guides for the original B17 made by Taff in Exile. Those should be enough to serve as a manual...

This is a quite a silly comment as times have moved on since then. Certainly no reason not to buy the game.

I would say the fact its EA and based on a really old game engine are far better reasons to not buy just yet until its become more obvious what is in the game, what works, and what doesnt. Whether it works at all in fact, never mind how well it plays compared to modern flight sims.

It looks good but graphics are not everything ...

Its definitely a case of buyer beware. Microprose used to be brilliant but I havent seen much of any real interest lately that they have done since their re-emergence. Certainly flight sims used to be their staple game genre but there is no evidence to show this will be anything more than a graphical revamp as yet.

I played the original to death so no real interest in the same gameplay again with updated graphics alone.

I know if it does not have a printed manual I do not buy the game. I miss the 90's.

I used to be the same had every Microprose game probably that ever came out both on Amiga and Pc.If the game came out with the printed manual like in the old days they will have to double the price if not triple to cover all cost and also most people these days don’t care much for this.

A different time thats true, I am sure someone would make a third party manual though which you could print and design a spiral binder for

I still have my SWOTL manual, which is great, but what I miss the most from the paper days are the reference cards for the controlls so you don't have to go into the menu or alt-tab to find a key.

you could always buy a copy of the original game with manual on eBay if you don't have it, this is after all essentially the same game with graphical tweaks

I have my original manual somewhere. But where???

Maybe they could be convinced to do something through Limited Run, but if not keep an eye on the manual (which is WIP right now so not fully dolled up) and if it gets those nice touches you could always have it professionally printed on good stock paper.
