Now that the game has flopped, will they drop subs?
Let me start by saying I'll never play a game that has a monthly subscription.

I believe that this game looks like it could be something interesting.

Now that the game has flopped and is at 59% positives with only 249 people bothering to leave reviews, do you think they'll finally change their business model to one that isn't stuck in 2007?

Think you're missing a zero there in that math :P

LoL.... Yeah game is still dead, no wonder you see the same 10 people typing in here because the Dual universe steam forums are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dead as the game.

It hasn't hit 100 players online at the same time in weeks.

RIP

I'm pretty sure you know the game started not on steam. That means there are quite a few players that don't use the steam launcher. Myself included.

Steam DB will never give an accurate report on this game.

Just look on the official forums, even long time fans say the game has very low player base, every 3rd post is about game is going free or dead...

And? Either you enjoy it or don't. Seems like more than a few people want the game to fail, regardless of what path it is on.

Also, until there is an official announcement, I'll keep trucking along business as usual.
Not going to deny the low playerbase and extremely niche gameplay though. *shrugs* my entertainment is worth the price of admission imo.

Or some people did not just get what they backed at all........... The only announcement they make is a building contest or share some screens. There is just a skeleton crew running this investor driven game now.

We all wanted the game to succeed. That is why people like myself paid subs for well over 2 years for our accounts and we played hundreds and hundreds of hours.
What did we end up with?
A released game with less content than when we started and everything we wanted to do was nerfed, time gated or turned in to a grind fest and to make it worse they charged us more for it.

There is still allot of active tiles out there, there is still allot of asteroids being discovered. Still allot of buy and sell orders going up. And there is still 50-100 new accounts being created every week.

Keep saying that to yourself, have a look on the official forums or Discord, people are asking where the players for this MMO are... If there are 100 on steam , usually there is 500-1000 total.

I find it hard to believe 200-400 new players join this every month as you say, when the game constant has a dropping playerbase of 10% each month.

I should stipulate its new accounts. Not necessarily new players. And this can be tracked by the number of tiles claimed on Haven. As every new account that is created and joins the game is given a Haven tile.

Where do you pull your stat of playerbase droping 10% each month? Is that just based off the steam numbers? because its pretty well established that most people are not playing it on Steam.

Those are real numbers not some, I feel the world is empty numbers and stream charts says no one is playing the game.

Are they great numbers? No. Infact it looks pretty bad for a first year MMO. And thats just because NQ is bad at gaming, and I suspect a culture thing.

That tiles does include free players , 1month testers and alts. Even main forums say the game is dead. Its a MMO with hardly 1000 people at the same time playing. It is a massive fail and nothing like promised by the previous dev team. Keep chilling but you know it.
Raaban Apr 2, 2023 @ 11:23pm
Also tiles stay forever.. So if its 23 000 at the moment that includes people testing, backers with free time to spare from kickstarter, Alternate accounts and others.. This means only that the game has had a MAX of prob 12-14 000 unique players in its lifespan. Not online at once.

That is quite a low number for maximum players for a player driven "MMO" that costs 120$ yearly.

7 days to die ( Another voxel builder) has 37 000 players daily...
Space engineers ( Voxel space builder) has 9000 daily players...
And here comes Dual Universe, the big ambitious player driven MMO with its Total player count peak ever at 23.542 , not online daily, but as a peak of total registered tiles ingame... Thats pretty ass
