However on the many subject, yes I cearly agree with you @Megabossload
sure, I'm here since the beginning and was in ATV too. been there, done that, nothing helped.
And besides: it never even improved since Alpha
Though during testing of the FTUE with minimal constructs? Game runs fine!
The only people I have heard that don't complain on some level are those with 3*** series cards. I will say, running DU on my 1080 rig, it has gotten slower on the same settings... so take it all with a grain of salt ;)
This is the consequence of such a massive scale of player built content!
But even on my old laptop I dumped the resolution down to the floor and it's playable; though looks awful! And it's on GeForceNow, so that's always an option.
Yeah, to be fair it is possible for a player to script something so LUA-heavy it's a drag on the best rig. I've done that to myself, hoist on my own petard, with a custom fuel monitoring script I wrote to check 30+ fuel tanks on a large build, that I had to put on a proximity detector so it only fires up when I'm near the screen.
Exploration is practically about finding asteroids ,because there is practically nothing else to "explore" until you want to see other players bases/ships,wchich can be mostly done by ingame VR.
Mining is all about calibrating ur mining units and you can go offline...hand mining exist only on asteroids and i couldnt say is very exciting either...
PVP is extremally clunky lagging and just boring tag and press fire then reload .....
Also there is alot limitations ,you cannot protect your lua scripts you sold from reselling,
alot of lua scripts need any person to be nearby to run properly or to run at all,etc etc
The word "Persistent" is where my atention felt... at the moment there is nothing of persistent neither they are guarantee it will be instead they said about the reset "Hopefuly only once". So I think Persistent shouldn't be mentioned until it will really be and declared so in the subscription contract.
"Player-driven economy" it is another whish but so far it wasn't and neither it will be. NQ had always intervene and will intervene in the future as well. It's simply impossible to have a working economy in short time.
Exploration has been drastically hit. Before when at least we had to fly around to find resources it was mor "Exploring" even if the only exploration is intended to find resources. Now with automining once you find a spot and you place them it is simply boring and most of the time you spend to calibrate the mining units. Exploration at that point is dead. I was flying much more around when there were not mining units. Please don't say that spend an hour flying to coordinates to find the asteroid is exploration...
"Base building" yes it can be cute to build a base but its only scope is to store your stuff or place some industry, all the rest it is useless since there is no need for anything else and it is just decorative.
"Ship building" fine, for sure improved with the vertex tool but now they made everything too complicate and you will need lot of quanta to buy elements that you can't anymore easily produce yourself after the last game change.
"PvP"... the Desync and the way it is realised makes it just not fun at all plus too expensive to gain practically nothing that compensate what you spend.
Performances are not good yet but wait, they will reset, it means not anymore big ships around or industries at the beginning... they will claim they improved performances... On another post you said during the last 6 months performaces are better... after killing the industries and players not playing much yes that is a consequence. Anyway go to market at District 6 it is still not good as soon as a couple of big ships are around. Also now you can crash easily on the ground becuase before it is completelly loaded you see it farest than what it is and bang... to me not that great or when you are flying and suddenly a construct appears in front of you... bang again...
Good your entusiasm for the launch but the game it is not ready yet. If now Star Citizens would be launched it wouldn't be different from DU launch.
So potential new players need to understand what really the game will offer them.
Also be aware of a potential other full or partial reset.
People before to pay can try the free trial even if it will not be the same of the actual game. It will be on a dedicated server where for sure they want to show the best performances ever... it will be a practically empty universe due to the reset every 2 weeks if I understood so and in 2 weeks you will not be able to experiment everything you can due to the slow progress, unless they give players dispenser where they can actually access to everything like we were having on the PTU.
