Team Fortress Classic
How can I install Quakeworld Team Fortress?
Well I didn't know where else to ask this but I figured maybe someone would be able to help, I want to try out Quakeworld Team Fortress but I can't seem to be able to figure out how. I know its a Quake mod but I don't know anything about Quake or modding it. Can someone here help?

You need some form of NQuake, which is a version of Quake World that the last reamining Quake players use.

3 - Where do I get Team Fortress 1?
3a - Get Quake (REQUIRED): http://store.steampowered.com/app/2310/?snr=1_7_7_151_150_1
3b - Download TF1: http://www.moddb.com/mods/team-fortress/downloads/team-fortress-28-release
3c - Extra stuff & Community: http://quakeone.com/
3d - Modern Engine to run it all: http://icculus.org/twilight/darkplaces/

Installing: Run the EXE, it should create a program called FORTRESS inside of the quake directory. If FORTRESS was moved elseware, drop it into the quake folder. It should be something like: /Steam/steamapps/common/Quake/FORTRESS/
-----------
4 - Find a server to play on:
Options:
4a - Download Gamespy (BEST): http://www.fileplanet.com/30657/30000/fileinfo/GameSpy3D-v2.63-Shareware
4b - Use Darkplaces INGAME Server Browser (Okay)
4c - Use websites like http://www.quakeservers.net/quakeworld/servers/t=tf/. (VERY INCOMPLETE LIST)

Gamespy can auto-launch the game for you, and Darkplaces can auto-connect you, but any other options you will have to connect manually by opening the command console with the ~~~~ key and typing:

connect IPaddress
examples:
connect 128.95.25.94
connect happypenguin112.quakeone.com
(NOT REAL SERVERS)
-----------
5 - Troubleshooting if you can't connect:

5a - Your Quake isn't running in FORTRESS mode. In Darkplaces use the Mods Menu, in other engines, start up the engine with the -game FORTRESS command line parameter. Example (no quotes): "glqwcl.exe -game FORTRESS"
5b - Is the server a MEGATF (Mega TF) server? If it has MEGA in the name at all, or is trying to download obscenly large numbers of files you may have connected to a MegaTF server. It is a special mode of TF that includes a lot of weird sound files, graphics, and new abilities. You can install it at: http://www.fileplanet.com/62193/download/The-MegaTF-Installer-1.0
5c - You don't have the maps. Almost all servers will let you auto-download the maps such as 2fort4 2fort5 Rock1 so on. If a server does not allow you to do that and instead disconnects you, look at the name of the server and try googling it for a webpage where you can download the "Map Pack" the server uses. There are other options as well.

Once you are in the game console and connected type setinfo drate 999999 and download speed should increase. Join the Quakeworld communities on Discord for help, chat or w/e.
