Yes, and no. right now TF2 has an issue where after the games source code leaked, botted players will join casual matches to advertise web sites or just make the game less fun by using aim bot.

grenades, and Bhop are pretty hit or miss in my opinion.

the game is mostly based on community severs.

valves way of handling the botted players in tf2 (as mentioned above)
was to mute free to play users. making the game basically pay to play.

two thing that TF2 has over TFC, are character customization (hit or miss)
and there are lots of selectable weapons.

the maps in TFC have interactable objects (buttons, doors, etc)

id say if you can get the game on discount its 100% worth it.

Really depends on how much you're willing to participate on community servers and get to know such an old game and comunity. Once you actually get around to knowing how the game works it's pretty fun.

TFC absolutely has bots. Community made, but it still has them.

You're just going to get biased responces, or misinformation, your question is a bit too vague.

There are players that are still playing after 10-20 years. Many of those will say it is among the best FPS ever, myself included.

There's not many players, but enough to almost always have at least one human populated server at any given time.

Still, I think it can be worth it if you don't have a modern computer, and want to spam away against bots or something.

I mean, why not? You can always refund it if you don't enjoy it. But we could also use the extra community members. Its really fun if you're dedicated to it.

Have not played in a while but I remember there were some really good community bots. To the point where they would split in two teams with one team defending and one attacking.

I like the game personally. It has an abundance of fun Humans vs Bots servers I find insanely fun and don't see in many places

this game has a huge abundance of fun modes/maps as well as the usual Capture The Flag/Team Deathmatch
the only problem you may have is finding players, there are a bunch that come online occasionally but no impressive numbers
