tfc crashing

So I've been having a problem with Team Fortress classic (tfc) it's been crashing constantly want to try to load up a community server or make my own server it just crashes

Hello, I have ran into issues a few times where my game will both randomly out of the blue stop working, and also after changing graphic processing settings.. there were no notable symptoms and it simply crashed to desktop whenever I tried joining any server.. I solved this issue by removing any GL_* options from my configs and deleting userconfig.cfg to reset my tfc to as 'default' as I could without actually having to redo my custom files.

I don't know if my experience is related to yours, but you may find this information very useful irregardless.

so i could not find userconfig.cfg but i did configs and removed gl_ stuff and it keeps crshing
