Team Fortress Classic

Team Fortress Classic

Can't see cursor in the main menu.
As the title says. It's easy enough to join servers as you can follow the click but changing settings is a real pain. Any ideas what i could do??

Try to uninstall the game and reinstall it. If that doesn't work, try rebooting your pc.

I'm assuming you're using Window. I don't use Windows myself, but I'm fairly certain TFC defaults to DirectX.

If it is a DirectX related problem you could try OpenGL.

In the TFC launch option in the Properties menu, put in "-force-opengl".

If that doen't work you may have to do it in-game. Since the issue is that you can't see your mouse, you will have to move the mouse around until it highl;ights the options menu. Click it. Now you can anvigate with tab and the arrow keys. Go to the Video tab and change the Renderer to OpenGL.
This is irrelevant, contains the wrong info, and generally would help nobody ever as it recommends you to use the default settings (but does so with the wrong, probably non-existant now commands)

This is without a doubt a pointer issue, you can either run the game in windowed mode to continue using your custom pointer [settings] or you can adjust your mouse pointer settings back to default (Windows default, no trails, no echolocation)

Thanks! I didn't think anyone would respond to this. You guys are awesome. I'll try your suggestions next time I have some time and post the results here.

TFC is one of my favorite games of all time. I was disappointed when my new gaming PC booted up TFC for the first time with this issue. I hope I can get it working.

I had the same disappearing mouse issue with Win 10 and a Logitech trackball mouse. You may be able to do the same with your mouse manufacturer's software. I fixed my issue by going into the Logitech mouse software and shutting off all of the mouse enhancements such as cursor shadow, automatic pointing, etc., etc. I can now play the game with no issues. Hope this helps.

just had the same issue. it was solved by turning off "Hide pointer while typing" in mouse control panel.
