If you played and liked 1&2 don't play this one at all. If you have not played this one don't play this and get 1&2.

I am a big fan of the Atelier Games. Not sure I even have anything good to say about this. Here is what I do not like.

The story makes the assumption that the player has played the first chapter at least. You are constantly taken back to cut scenes where the characters are remembering their past. That being said you have no access to things you should have access to from the past. Such as simple tools like a fishing rod or bug net. You can't access tools in the hideout from the start and recipe's are unknown and you have to learn them all over again.

There is a constant chatter where the characters will just start talking to each other while walking. it is so often it is distracting to the game play.

The graphics seem less polished then the previous games. Design choices are questionable. What the heck is the deal with the giant safety pin on Ryza's outfit?

The alchemy is not clean at all and feels very clunky compared to the first two chapters.

The combat is annoying. Enemies will switch targets for no reason at all. You can only see the enemy in front of you at any given time even though there are multiple enemies.

If this was a stand alone game with a story that matched I would give this a 5/10 for an Atelier series game. For a sequel to 2 very well written and fun games I would put this as 1/10.
