the total amount of gameplay doesn't count here, what counts is the single run; one has to wait until it gets into the pool. Good thing is you got the achievement already.
I was guessing that it was current play time based on my experience but is there a minimum amount of time the game has to run for it to get in? Because 3hrs and still not in yet seems like a bit long. Not everyone has that kind of time. It's good I got the achievement but it'd be nice to see it in the pool.
It might be a bit better if it were tied to an event, like a storm blowing it in. Then it's a matter of getting lucky and not of having to have the game running for several hours consecutively.
I guess I was just unlucky and the other ducks didn't bump him enough on my past longer plays.
I don't think that's quite the case. I don't see it slowly sliding like it has momentum. It's like it's in one place then basically transfers to the next bit closer place. Kinda semantics though it's programmed to move but it seems only to hanging over a bit then it's up to the pool ducks to knock it in. My luck with duck bumping was just bad.
Unless the dev clarifies I stand by my theory that it stops once over the edge a bit then requires the ducks in the pool to knock it in. As my original post said it was well over an hour and not in the pool which is why I asked at the time what the deal was. Though it did make it full in the pool eventually when I had more ducks. More ducks means more can bump into it faster. Of course you could be unlucky and have one of your early ducks be pointy and make it hard for it to make it into the pool at all.
So the answer to my original question would be over an hour then the rest is rng of the ducks bumping it.
Hmm could be it keeps moving then and is set to around 2-3 hours or a bit more if no ducks push it. I watched a stream of it last night and it went in right around the 2 hours mark but some ducks for sure helped push it in. But they only had one pointy duck so didn't get to that fun interaction before having to end stream.
I wish it worked differently, like maybe storms pushed it in or something so it was rng instead of time based. Not everyone can play the game for multiple hour stretches to get to experience it. I only had it happen a couple times by letting it run while doing other things and keeping an eye on it. I know some have said they just let it run to get achievements but I want to sit and watch it happen. I just can't do it for super long in one go.
EDIT: Well one just hit the flamingo at full speed and it passed under it (like the flamingo got lifted a little bit).. Maybe a taller duck.. the one with party hat or the shark or something.. could maybe be tall enough to move it instead of sliding under..
EDIT2: never mind the birth party duck went under.. the hat has no hitbox xD
edit3: the cyber duck just hit the flamingo at full speed and this time it fell in the pool. So yeah.. depends on RNG... it's 111 minutes in now..
