about Dungeon Holes?
5 hours or so in early game, I'm trying to explore as much as I can without completing objectives (because I can), some holes will let me jump into death and others don't, no visual clues or whatever.
Is there a way to know whether the game will allow me to jump into those or not? Maybe a skill ?

I don't remember enough of the first game to remember how it was in Refrain.

only if you mapped out the current floor and lower floor.
Like for example if the pitfall is on X-12/Y-12 on that floor, does the lower floor's X-12/Y-12 have a floor tile, or another hole?
You will keep falling lower and lower until the lower floor's X-12/Y-12 have floor tile.

As the previous comment said the only way to know if a fall will kill you is if you mapped out the floor below. That being said from personal experience very few holes will outright lead to your death in this game compared to Refrain and when they do the game is pretty blatant about it.

On the flipside there's also much fewer areas you need to jump down a hole to get to so you can easily just ignore every hole you come across till you find an area that looks virtually impossible to reach less you drop down one.

I'm pretty far into part 2 of the game and so far I can't recall any place that required dropping down a hole to progress.

Heh, I really wanted to know what was in the unmapped section of the first dungeon after exploring a good part of the second one. I found a spot on the fourth floor and jumped off. It didn't kill my puppets, well only a few of them.

To my surprise, I landed in mud on the sixth floor. The mobs were all tougher than anything I had encountered previously,

you can get some pretty good Stuff if you jump from Nexus Floor 5 to Floor 6. Just be aware that touching any Encounter will wipe you.

Stuff to get :

1 legendary Sword
1 legendary Shoes
1 Mana Frog aka 15K free Mana.
1 Curio
1 Tactictan Pact.

+a lot of good random Stuff/Mana Spheres who give up to 3K Mana.

and maybe more Stuff i did not found.

Kinda wondering what the Game gonna do if you collect that Pact before offically unlocking the Feature to have more then one Puppet in a Coven( i assume nothing)

I just love it when a Game allows you Sequence breaking. Like i completly overlooked the Iron for the Alchemiepot and ended up in Nexus 5 fighting a Boss where you normally already have 5 Puppets instead of 4. Said Boss also managed to finish off one of my Puppets so i was Minus 2 Puppets in this Fight and i won :D.

Granted that still not as "bad" as the other Guy here who ended up in Nexus 5 in the search of the catalogue.

Did the same thing, but touching the next encounter doesn't necessarily wipe you. You just have to be set up well. I don't mean over levelled. I mean you have to go in with a plan, and execute it well. I beat them 1-2 packs at a time before retreating at level 15-16, forcing progress a bit before I even started the Aspe dungeon. I also got a few pacts early that helped me out greatly.

Edit: I'm specifcally talking about the Toadstools. The blue balls can go to hell.

Second Edit: I can answer what happens if you get the Tactician pact before you officially unlock the ability to have multiple people in a coven. Nothing stops you. The fact is, you aren't given the ability to have multiple people in a coven. You just usually have no pacts for that before then. Now you do.

Third edit: Also, there is a boss fight down there. I forget what it was, but it is easily doable if you go in full tilt and use everything at your disposal.

Ah the Astrolabes. Kinda cruel of them to put an enemy from Apse floor 8 in a secret but easily reachable area of Narthex floor 1.

I think dying to the Astrolabes early is somewhat of a rite of passage for this game.

@CPT Okay my first/only Encounter down there, were 3 Astrolabes and assuming that every Enemy is as strong as them i never touched a second enemy down there.

Yeah, I'm a little more adventurous. I was able to even clear an astrolabe party of 4 up top, but when there was a SECOND one right behind the door, it went south fast, and I said ♥♥♥♥ it. This wasn't worth the meager treasure they guard there.

Nah, down deeper it's mostly toads. They don't use donums as often which is what the problem is. Your donum defense isn't as high as it needs to be to fight the astrolabe enemies yet.
