I wouldn't even truly call treasure of Nadia a visual novel with all the extra gameplay stuff that makes it a completely not interesting for me
I'm probably in minority but I wasn't super crazy about treasure of Nadia. Actually enjoyed Lust Epidemic more. That being said I do agree it's top tier quality Adult game on steam though. But also like the above said I wouldn't really call it a VN. It's more like a point and click style game, so it's not really fair to compare it to a full on VN.
I'm just guessing here but I think they can all use from the same pool of development tools. But like adult films, you have the "bargain bin" ones and the really good ones. :)
Yea they mostly use the Renpy engine.
Yes, the Ren'Py engine is the current golden standard for AVN's.
