That may not be the case, Somebody has made a patch to fix it for Modern Versions of Windows https://github.com/elishacloud/dxwrapper/wiki/Prince-of-Persia

Since you also mentioned that you have accidentally clicked no for changes to be made, verifying the game files should prompt the message again - https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/0C48-FCBD-DA71-93EB

I tried re-installing the game alot of times and play it again but always the same error popped up for the same thing, i tried to re-install it a few minutes ago, i verified the game file with those same instructions and nothing happened either, the error code is this one right here, also ik, i shouldve wrote e error message in the first comment but anyways her it is.
Prince of persia

I had the same issue. what you want to do is go into your game files, and in the folder that has the launcher .exe, there should be a folder called "VCRedist" or some variation of that name. There should be an .exe inside : run it, and it will install the missing component :D
