honestly dissapointed with this game

I'm hoping for more than the current 2. Doesn't look promising unless they plan to have dozens of companions. But if you want to have backgrounds and quests involving them you shouldn't have too many as a rule, and we have 6 with this one: 2 guys & 4 girls. This kinda leaves me disinterested in a game I've already bought.

the roadmap said we'll get two new companions, including Safia. if you look at the silhouette of the second companion that was in the winter slot -- granted the timelines given to us back in September seem to have been overridden at this point 😉 but i doubt characters will be deleted, so my point still stands -- it looks an awful lot like Till, the (I assume Coin Guard? i hope so because they're my fav faction) soldier who shot and killed Toflan in the prologue after your initiation. so ultimately we would have Alvida, Sybille, Fausta, and Safia; Nilan, Ludwig, and Till. i don't see why it's a problem to have more characters of one gender than the other. GF1 had three male companions and two female companions. 🤷🏼‍♀️ i'm also a little unsure as to how they'd have to have "dozens" of companion characters to right the balance?

at any rate, i am very excited to get to know everyone even more! the 27th can't come fast enough!

I really hope it is not Till. I am a fan of the Greedfalls, but I would prefer a better male companion. Right now we have three beauties, a hothead with a weird-girly haircut, a middle aged letdown and now we get an old lady. Don´t get me wrong, I think it is nice to have a variety of companions and I also liked Petrus characterwise in GF1, but right now there are no characters like Vasco or Konstantin. We are missing a hot guy who tries to curt the (female) main character (like Vasco and Kurt) or at least gives you the feeling that he cherishes you (like Konstantin)... Which was the reason I always chose to side with Konstantin in the End of GF1 - even though I was determined to take another ending I just couldnt resist the hug... Where was I? Right: the hairy bear Till who killed someone precious to the main doesnt cut it - neither optics nor story-wise. You are right a gender-balance is not necessary, but the available males are not good enough. They should either have a lovable character OR a handsome appearance, but right now I really dont like Nilan because he just repeats his racism over and over again with his out-of-question-haircut and Ludwig is a tad too dreary. None of the males is fun, or mischievous, or flirty or anything at all. At the other hand fausta is mysterious and wise, Alvida is earnest and trusting and Sybille is fun and elegant. And to boot that they are all bautiful in optics. So why didnt they make at least one handsome guy? :P
