I dare to say that I even paused the game more times in GF1 than I did in GF2.
So yeah, the game is stuck with this dead end system forever marking it as a disappointment.
I absolutely am. I cannot fathom why they made this pivot.
Like, why try this with a direct sequal?
Why take such a risk with your growing (and probably most popular) IP?
It did not look anything like GF 1 on YT gameplay videos. I am not even sure how the combat system rn would play on a controller or Console UI?
And don't get me wrong, I have no issue with RTwP....but I have an issue with it being put into a Greed Fall sequel.
You are correct. It plays nothing like the first Greedfall and sadly it will never be.
That being said it actually plays much better with a controller than it does with mouse and keyboard. Because for some unholy reason they decided not only to ape Dragon Age Origins, but also to draw liberally from KotOR's even worse control scheme. Which means you have to hold a button in order to look around and you have to hold both buttons if you want to move with the mouse. And if you want to play it like an RTS, you have to double click to move for some reason. They did not fix any of that in the update even though many complained.
Controller controls, though a bit esoteric are much better thought out and far more comfortable to use. But you are still essentially commanding units in an RTS.
The game is a "Prequel Sequel" so its not a big deal for new players who don't know Greedfall world.
Ever since I got my hands on a Steam Controller I play everything with it. Even most strategies.
Disagree. It has a big 2 at the end. This is not a Pillars of Eternity/Avowed situation.
And with the drastic change in a core, arguably the most core, game mechanic, the combat system. It's gonna upset existing fans of GF 1.
It is not a prequel.
