GreedFall II: The Dying World

GreedFall II: The Dying World

One Open World instead of multiple levels
I hated that in Greedfall if we wanted to travel to another region we had to go to the post and travel to the other region in a loading screen, I hope this prequel will have the entire map explore-able without any loading screens

I personally like individual levels. I hate exploring huge maps anymore. I used to like open world stuff, but....they just kept getting bigger and bigger.

I feel like multiple maps is more effective to create an impression of huge world while respecting realistic proportion for the areas (like city for example)
So, i'm fine with the first greedfall

I would prefer an open seamless world, but I have no hard set in stone preferences between the two either.

Its story driven RPG so its unlikely. Each game doesnt need to be open world and Spiders dont do them.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I much prefer the separate zones. I don’t want to play the several hours of empty space between zones lol. Some games do open worlds well but when you’re trying to simulate a real world, it’s either tons of empty space or unnaturally claustrophobic feeling

As long as the world ain't filled with massive empty areas.
Like some of the Assassins Creed games.

Nah, I'd like little maps more
So many huge useless open worlds these days, i am tired
Would've open world but probably engine limits for this smaller team of devs.

They don't live in a stone age, UE5 is out for everyone with large scale worlds available to indie devs

They have own engine with all sorts of important tools. Its not that easy for small team to change engine.
They gradually upgrade their engine and tools so I expect the same now and as I said - they dont do open worlds. There is enough devs in this field. They do story-driven games ala old Bioware and its good path for them.

I agree. That "collection of small maps" was a pain. It's the ONE thing about Greedfall that I really just didn't like. The potential is incredible for a nice big open world.

More open maps, with less loading into zones would be nice. However, I don't want open world. Witcher 2 style would be absolutely perfect.

No it wasn't.
PLUS - separate levels are always running MUCH BETTER than one open world map. So ♥♥♥♥ open world games, I don't want another 15 fps ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with stutters like many games nowadays.
