The multiplayer in turok 2 died in like a week. Wasted effort.
And NO. It would not be the same as removing multiplayer from Goldeneye. Goldeneye was known for its multiplayer, Turok was not. Goldeneye created the trend.. Turok was following it out of obligation.
They could cut the price in half of that of Turok 2 and call it "Campaign Edition" or something. It'd be fair. T3's the worst and shortest game of trilogy, has half of content cut and still costs more. As long as community supports this practices - the worse it'll get.
They knew T3 would flop, so they ditched everything and increased the price to rip off the most loyal fans. I swear they can release Rage Wars with only single-player trials for 40 and there will still be people excusing that slop.
Some people would really like split screen like it was back in the day. And Turok gets remastered for them, not to compete with modern multiplayer games. Split screen multiplayer and p2p online wouldn't be that much of a feat in the first place, it's still Kex. That's no excuse to cut it from modern remasters and re-releases. Not to mention 99% of multiplayer games are dead on arrival anyway. That's how it is, the market is oversaturated.
I wanted campaign co-op. I know there's a mod but I still prefer official support typically.
It is true that T2's MP died really early into it's release, so Night Dive didn't see a need to include it.
That being said, i do feel that it renders this remaster incomplete and inferior to the original version in terms of included content. This also gives me the thought that since they didn't include it here, they won't (or in my opinion, shouldn't) bother with Rage Wars if a DOA multiplayer mode is their concern.
You are confusing something. That game is almost exclusively played for speedrunning. The only multiplayer modes from N64 that aged well were some nintendo franchises like Mario Cart 64.
The console is bad environment for egoshooters which was very evident in the console shooter years where egoshooters were at there all-time lowest in regards to quality, roughly the time from 2005-2015.
Though offline multiplayer sessions in rage wars were a lot of fun back in the day.
I still think that the complaints are justified, because that short singleplayer campaign is very little content. Even the first playthrough is only like 2 hours or less.
