ME NO LIKE EMULATING!
I remember really liking the gore in that game, good times.
that wasnt a turok game, it was a generic FPS with the turok name on it.
A wet fart in the face is what it was.
While i agree, its certainly among the roughest of "gems" (*very heavy quotation marks), i dont think it entirely deserves the hate.
Despite all the glaring issues, i think it had its moments. And like any selfrespecting disaster it has its own tragic backstory. Namely major technical challenges with the then next gen hardware (going from n64/PC to complete multiplatform PS2, Gamecube, Xbox and PC), a financially struggling publisher with questionable budget management and lastly strict imposed deadlines that resulted in a rushed release. Or simply put: Development Hell.
With that much wasted potential and quite a bit of cool stuff landing on the cutting room floor, it could indeed benefit substantially from a quality Nightdive remaster. And maybe even make it shine the way it was originally supposed to.
At the very least, a decent PC port would be a start, since the original one is the worst version of the game, together with the PS2 port. Ideally one would base the remaster on the Xbox version, arguably the best, since it has all graphical effects properly working.
Digital Foundry made a video, comparing the PC and Xbox versions, here it is incase youre curious:

Gameplay wise, i agree with previous comments, keeping weapons between levels would be dope, i mean think what you will about evolution, but you gotta respect the armory, the pistols sniper mode for example, that thing slays. But i also must say, not a big fan of the flying levels, those need some serious tweaking to turn them from a chore into a neat little palette-cleanser.
Anyway, im rambling on too long, all im saying is, calling it the worst game ever feels quite exaggerated. I dont know about you, but i take Turok Evolution any day of the week over some of the borderline broken, cookie-cutter shovelware that some triple A publishers attempt to serve us every other year nowadays.
