What makes you love FS4?

I always come back to Aerofly. It is the most relaxing sim experience for me. Why do you like FS4 compared to other sims?

Aerofly FS4 is my go to flight simulator. The main reason is the VR game play, I made a mid level gaming system with an old Dell Optiplex 3020, Specs: Intel I5 4570 CPU @3.20GHz. 16GB DDR3 RAM, 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660, Windows 10 ver. 22H2 installed on 120 GB SSD and Game Data installed on a 1TB SSD, using a cabled Meta Quest 3 VR headset. The game is amazing in VR, it’s a beautiful game, and even on low settings the cockpits and aircraft are detailed. Just being able to look around the cockpit, it is amazing. As of today I have logged over 1000 hours in the FS4 sim. FS4 gets better with each update, with the release of the 737 NG, 737 MAX, AIRBUS 319 and Pushback. I hope more aircraft are on the way. I have MSFS, X-plane and DCS and they look very good on the flat screen. But once you go VR you can’t go back to a flat screen. There’s nothing like turning your head around in the cockpit and reaching down with a VR hand flipping switches. You are in these planes, and this is what Aerofly does very well. Even on a low to mid range gaming PC. I must admit some of the Airports outside the main game DLC areas are like a Stephen King movie, very creepy with only a lighted runway, and I don’t know what’s going on in Florida, trees on the runways, taxi ways and parking ramps. There must be a glitch in that DLC. But in no way does this keep me from logging flight hours on Aerofly FS4. I have increased my knowledge of the aircraft by downloading the aircraft manuals, watching real airline pilots on YouTube and reading the Aerofly content. Yes there are a lot of things that Aerofly could do, but then it would be MSFS, X-plane or DCS. What Aerofly does, is get you flying and in VR there’s not much more you could ask for. I could tell you that landing the UH-60 in the yard at Alcatraz dropping off Seals has its own rewards and flying a F18 through the uprights of the Golden Gate Bridge at 800 knots will make you sweat, along with playing helicopter hopscotch with the tall buildings in Vegas or New York brings forth even more excitement, and it’s all done in VR. And I think Aerofly for that. Aerofly FS4 is a really good Flight Simulator and it is getting better with every update. If you have a Low to mid range Gaming PC get Aerofly and a VR headset, you won’t be disappointed.

I do not have VR but I love this FS4 game. It runs really well on my modest mid range PC. There is a respectable range of aircraft and a lot of places to fly around. The frame rates are phenomenal. Also, it does not take up as much space and resources as MSFS, nor does it absolutely depend on a constantly good internet connection. I must confess that I still do have flights in my Flight Sim World now and again though.

Environmental grfx may pale terribly in comparison to either MSFS2020 or XP12, but aircraft grfx are top notch inside and out.
But as a result of having not-so-top-notch environmental grfx (and,no moving water): the most important consideration for me, since i own all 3 (mentioned) flight sims: AFS4 launches QUICKLY....so much more quickly than MSFS 2020 or XP12, that it's not even funny.
I can also operate the aircraft OR have the PC fly or land the aircraft ,change time of day and weather...almost instantaneously.
Quick start up to play AFS4 and quick in-game changes make AFS4 my favorite flight sim.

VR definitely! It loads in no time and the Alps look amazing, my favourite spot to fly. The mountain ridges look a lot sharper and jagged than in FS2024, at least with my specs. In MSFS everything looks artificially rounded.

To me it's my go-to sim, and I tried them all. And yes, X-plane and MSFS are way more detailed and in-depth. But they also have such poor performance (MSFS mostly) and are almost too comprehensive. Sometimes I just want to fly, have fun, simulate navigation and challenging routes. And Aerofly is just perfect for that. It loads fast, has good enough graphics while keeping at an FPS that I only can dream of in the other sims. If Aerofly improves with more weather features, a bit better graphics on ground (mostly textures I guess, like water and grass), failure simulation and who knows ATC someday? Then I don't see any reason to ever go back to my other sims again.

Playing AFS 4 in VR on a reasonably specced PC using Meta Quest 3 since a couple of days. Goes like a whistle, am quite satisfied with this combination. ATC would be nice (and not too demanding on the system i suppose?) Having some problems finding out how to control things with my hands instead of mouse and HOTAS, but I'll figure it out.
