Is there a private server option?
I hate people, and won't play online with them.
But this looks fun, if there's a private server option.

No. Gotta pay the bank to build on the land. Then watch as JoeSchmo and XxXFOOTBALLCHADDERXxX build right next you then abandon their half built plots for eternity. :D Hopefully a decay system happens that balances abandonment but also keeps players progress should they need to leave for awhile. Good luck with that. Conan: Exiles was a nightmare at keeping the abandoned stuff in decay to stop clogging up the land and the servers...

On conan exiles some players gave their friends steam access, just so they could reset the decay timer, because they did not want to lose their server lagging foundation spam bases, despite not even playing anymore. Was funny once when one player who was babysitting an account for a player who had not played for 2 years on official server, had a medical emergency and could not reset the decay timer for his inactive friend. Someone told the inactive his base was gone on discord and there was a lot of drama. I'd built an ugly wall around most of his base, but could not wall it off completely as it was up against undead city. People find ways to get round decay timers and selfishly lag the servers on conan exiles because they become attached to their foundation spam bases and think they built something special.

Already on Pax my workstations take about 15 seconds to render sometimes when I log in, because people built castles on the nearby mountains. I mean like 12 plots or more for a lot of foundation spam walls. What makes it worse is half of those huge castles don't seem to have any activity.

wow

Okay, thanks for the detail.
I like playing conan solo, and ark, I even had fun with Last Oasis. The stress of having to co-exist with random people is a hard pass.

Game is a Social MMO. Requires ALOT of teamwork to do anything and being solo. Without being open to trade with other players. You can spend HOURS trying to progress for very minimal progress.

So no improvement over Ark Survival.
That's why Dune Awakening places the building areas into instances which they call Hagga basin.
I want to see what happens If everyone comes back online and starts running around.

Let's just hope they never add a "FREE WEEKEND"... omfg.... that amount of "mudhuts" I had to clear after those weekends, helping the admins remove the abandoned plots/campfires/beds, etc.... it was a JOB.... :P

I am willing to bet that at some point that will become an option. Right now it is a " No " but when it comes time to pay the bills they will make any change they feel will make them money.

Having said that you do not have to play with anyone and just focus on solo which is a grind but can also be fun. You will have to skill up carpentry though.

you will have to skill up most stuff to use/make most stuff sadly. Such an odd design. 3 person clan atm so if the black smith is gone for more then 2 days, I'm screwed and have to start smithing myself to get the stuff I need. This has happened so many times now that my clannmate levelign up her BS was almost pointless the moment she leaves. defo need shops/stalls/currency cause this material/storage grind is maddening when suddenly you can't make wrought iron buckles ( example) cause your friend is gone. i'd suggest doing ALL professions yourself to max at this point....

Yep. That is why I stay pretty primitive on my build and character right now. My guild is already dead down from 40 or 50 active.

Not finding being solo difficult at all. Just leatherworking is a pain to lvl. Most other skills are between 20-30. Only difficulty I may have is with difficult mobs in dungeons, if I need something unique from there. Other mobs I can just cheese by standing somewhere they can't reach me and using spear/arrows.

Gonna hold out for a dedicated server option, I got a few games I run on my Linux server with friends and family.
