Hopefully it will be sorted out in a few hours.
I walked into a pile of 1000 deer earlier.
i honestly couldnt care less about WHAT is causing the lag, thats not my job to find out, thats theirs.
and maybe if all these people complain about lag i would shut down the servers, let people know about it and actually try to fix it instead of having everyone play and then complain about the lag.
thats one fast way to lose your playerbase on the very first day and it is more than just a bit frustrating especially after paying a price that is more than your usual EA title.
If anyone played that game on an official PVE server they will know what I mean. The server lag was never an issue on PVP servers, because if someone was building in a way to compensate their manhood or boobs, their base would become a prime target for everyone.
On PVE servers there was eventually a lot of hatred against builders. Those who spent all day building and would close off vast areas by walling them up They actually thought the scale of their base would impress others, but instead no one even saw their bases because no one wanted to wait 30 min for it to load just to be able to run past it.
The rubber banding issue is also just like conan exiles on PVE servers.
I wish Mainframe would either introduce a decay timer that is tedious (not just logging in), so inactive players can't just give their steam account to a friend to babysit. Or just delete all the plots that have been inactive for over a week.
If they do either of these it would half fix the server lag. There will be a huge number of complaints from clans, who abuse the system by building on inactive clan members plots. But the cull is needed. Either server becomes unplayable or they do a purge on inactives even if clans use their space.
I paid for 8 plots by buying 2 master accounts. Yet someone not that far from me, has 16 plots (maybe even more but those I know about). He is obviously someone who made a clan. Recruited a few players. Those players left the game and left their plots next to his for clan access. So in effect someone who probably has paid at least half what I have has double the plots I have.
One place I actually lose more than half my health when passing through, because the base is so big, it does not even render if I keep running through it. So according to the server I must be falling off the wall he built, but client side I'm just running through clear space. The only way I can even see that base is if I stop for 2 min after and stay there watching it.
I'm usually against subs and prefer a cash shop even if its P2W, since in the end many RMT anyway, which offsets any P2W element. But really in this case I can't think of any other solution. Since when game gets released, some will rebuy the game each month on another steam account just to add more plots so they can spam more foundation. With a sub they would notice their bank accounts getting hammered each month and wonder if having 20 accounts for 80 plots is really worth it.
