Skill and Spell Progression
So. I know this is kinda early to be mentioning anything about this, however I have been so excited for this game. I have had a vision of a game similar to what is being announced here since I was a kid. I am 34 years old and have been gaming since Starcraft: Broodwar released. As a kid I always fantasized about a game that allowed players to learn new "skills", or "spells" through the use of the category of said used skill or spell. However if using a combination of skills or spells, you will obtain a skill or spell that combines the two frequently used skills together.

Example would be:
My "battlemage" uses fireball and a sword a lot. So I would develop a skill or spell that augments my weapon with fire also and allows me to unleash it in a fiery blaze.

This is kinda a vague example, however I fantasized deeper into this where skills and spells were "learned" dynamically and original per player (obviously not everything should be original, IE: basic - mastery level, but pushing past a mastery level you start to obtain original content). You could also have mentors that would be able to write books that would teach you how they learned this skill and you could practice the same mechanics for a chance to also learn this skill or something greater or lesser depending on your usage of said skill.

I don't know if I truly got my vision across here because I am so terrible at describing what my brain perceives. I hope that the basics of the vision is clear enough to be understood by the reader. Thanks so much for you guys working so hard on this game and I look forward to seeing it develop over the years to come!

sorry to burst the fantasy bubble, but skills and spells are tied to gear and not to characters. If you want a fireball, you're using a specific weapon. If you want a heal, you're using a specific shirt. There's no leveling the spells or augmenting the ability. All you get is a skill level that influences the damage or effect of the ability.

sad really there should be some kind of proficiency tied to the player based on time of training or use, 1 year mage versus 10 year mage in same gear is kinda wrong if they are equal

Yeah this is my problem with the entire game, there is no base stat leveling, so you can literally buy the game 10 years from now, be given endgame gear and boom you are just as powerful as a 100000 hour pr0.

(not including the small damage bonus for weapon leveling)
