Even if I had a 6 year old PC and upgraded it with a graphics card, I could still play PaxDei.
It is of course difficult for a normal gamer to buy a PC that is suitable for the end user and can be easily upgraded.
You don't need an absolute high-end card for a PC games with a 7 year old graphics card with certain problems but my card can still do it.
The more expensive a graphics card, the faster you have to replace it.

Even Skyrim have more Details than this world ?! So i just think the Devs have builded a messy scripted game world that need a 4000 Dollar PC to run well. I dont get it why devs make such messy unoptimized Games theese days just to verify to buy a pricly new pc with " modern" hardware.
They are just not skilled and want to make big profit whith less coding quality efforts.
Sadly Pax Dei will only be for Hardcore like the Star Citizens Guys who paid more than 1000 for an alpha.
The Vision is good but the game will be boring lame open world with not a big community just because 80% of all gamers will not be able to run this game smoothly.
if you have 3000€ for a new pc thats ok,i am not a richkid and i love my PC . I can run every other game nicely in 60 fps in full hd or higher.
Why this game make this huge difference ? it looks like generic game with no hyper realistic graphic or physics,i dont get to the point why 12GB of VRAM are needed to play this in minimum because there is NOTHING we didnt have seen in other video games before.
It just seems like a big LIE to sell us stupdid useless new overpriced hardware every year again for games that looks not even better.
The problem is not the game is the engine it runs and the minimum for Unreal 5 is that...
The game will run in ur current pc the problem is when u have to render all houses from all players.
U can play single players of U5 on that pc but anything online game is going to be trouble they use so much they eat 4070 and start using CPU too... But like i said its the engine....
well looks u bought the right Video card when u got that 2060... Like i said 3060 will get u a couple of years... And its not expensive and wont use that much power..
I do the same i always used to change for 70's now i use the 60's cheaper and last around the same than upper models... 4060 more powerfull or equal than the 2 prevous 80's models.
Engines used to take longer to change not sure if all this new AI and chip tech move that faster but used to take a long time.and changes were not that big that require that much hardware
ON discord minimum requirements are the 2060
GPU: GeForce RTX 2060 (12 GB) / Radeon RX 5700 XT
VRAM: 8 GB
CPU: Intel i5-7600K or AMD equivalent
RAM: 16 GB
Storage: SSD with 80 GB free space
OS: Windows 10
So I went to PC Parts Picker, entered my motherboard, and figured out what my options were for a new video card. You should be able to upgrade for a couple of hundred.
Wait , so you have not even tried the game? Tell me what has changed from say 20 years ago? There were games out not everybodies machine could run, weren't there? If it bothers you when it comes to PC then console may be for you ,because everybody gets the same configuration of hardware and devs have to make sure it runs in the range of certain parameters ,if they can't fit consoles capability, they dumb the game down graphically and,if they further cannot achieve at least 30 FPS , it won't be a console game at all. PC has a vast amount of possible configurations, some can afford $500 PC only and some can afford $5000 and beyond, you can't expect to run a modern game that is also meant to satisfy PC enthusiast with $500 PC the same way $5000 machine could, you will have to dumb down the graphics settings which is a beauty for PC Gamers out there. If your PC is below console spec, don't expect miracles.
Time flies, needs are going to advance. Its only a few hundred to upgrade your GPU for a massive performance gain.
I would look up a performance per dollar site, I forget which one, but google is free, likely something like the 3060ti will be more than enough
