Also, fundamentally these mechanisms don't help with making the UI show controller buttons instead of keyboard button images, so it's not an acceptable solution. At best, it's a workaround albeit, in many cases, a poor one.
There are dozens, if not hundreds or thousands, of games that have implemented controllers fully so it's possible regardless of the game genre and not doing so ignores a large section of the gaming community that simply will not buy a game without proper controller support.

Oh dear Gawd no!
I just use the controller for the character. The Steam config allows me to easily map everything I need for the hot bar and spells, weapons, tools, movement, blah blah).
I navigate all the menus (crafting, ect) with the mouse.
Congrats. If I could use a mouse without cripping pain, id do the same.
How much of a Priority is this? As someone who NEEDS gamepad support for a game like this, I am eager to play with friends who play, but until the UI/UX is redesigned with controller button prompts and not just emulated controls I can't/won't justify a purchase for a game I will be fighting every step of the way to enjoy.
