Skinning skill is badly designed and bugged

So basically when you get higher levels of skinning you start to get tier 2 rough animal hide from basic animals. INSTEAD of tier 1 rough animal hide. Yes there is still a chance to get tier 1 but when you get tier 2 you get none of tier 1.
This makes me having a ton of tier 2 hides which is totally useless for me now, but lacking a basic tier 1 hide.

Also, I assume that this is a bug that Skinning level doesn't affect results of skinning a boar at all. All other animals have the quantity and quality of loot increased with skinning level increased.

And why deers stopped dropping large animal hide?

Looks like your going to have to hunt rabbits and badgers for t1 hides, that's the only work around I can think of until the devs fix it, whenever they fix it.

Rabbits and badger give me only tier 2 rough hide. Always.

Tier 2 hide is called Animal Hide. Rough Animal Hide is Tier 1. You start to get t2 hide (aka Animal Hide) off deer / badgers / foxes at around level 15/16 skinning. You still get t1 hides off those animals even at high skinning levels. You get Rough Animal Hides off boars all the time (not old boars, you get t2 hides off them too). Yes, you either get Animal HIde or Rough Animal hide off one animal, but even at higher levels of skinning, you will be getting more t1 hides than you will need (once you get your leatherworking up).

Yes, that's what I'm talking about. I started to get t2 hide instead of t1. That's bad design. Because I can't use t2 hide instead of t1 hide in recipes.

Well you certainly start to get some percentage of t1 hides replaced with t2 hides, but not 100%. I fail to see how is this a bad design - you can just stockpile the excess t2 hides for when you need them as you level up your LW. The fact that you can't use t2 hides yet does not mean that you will not eventually need them. Focus on boars if that bothers you, but t2 hides are still valuable and you will need lots if you plan to work on your leatherworking anyway.

My estimates are it's more than 50% times I get t2. So it's a big problem for me. The amount of t1 hides I'm getting dropped significantly since I got 15 lvl of skinning.

As I mentioned earlier boars are bugged. They only give 1 hide each. Skinning level doean't affect quantity of hides they give.

I made an alt, and used him to hunt stags for Large Rough Animal Hides. Do that up until 16 Leatherworking where you'll get Boiled Generic Leather (Tier 2 Hides).

Just note, as a solo - you won't be able to stitch tier 2 small and medium hides yet, as that requires a Tier 2 Leatherworking Table. You will need to hunt Bears for Tier 2 Large Animal Hides to make Boiled Generic Leather.

This is unbelievable how much more hides I got on a new character!

I think it's a bug that deer stags stop giving large hide when you level up skinning
