I'd buy it again.

Pax Dei is a great game.

If you're still on the fence about it, go on YouTube and watch some videos on it. I think the game has a great future ahead of it, and will be a very strong MMO for years to come.

Do you think the devs are reliable enough to get it to that point?

Yes. Absolutely.

Mainframe was founded by one of the old founders of CCP games. The devs of Eve Online. So expect a game with similar aspects to Eve regarding the empire building, PvP, wars, espionage, politics, alliances, PvE, etc...

Like Eve, Pax Dei is designed to be played for many years.

It's backed by companies and investors with ALOT of money. Tencent for example owns one of the investors...

I like it.
if you are looking for a game that you can master/conquer in record time. Then this game probably isnt for you.
Otherwise. I say go for it.

Wait till 1.0 is my recommendation. Early access is always a high risk and we should not forget they talked about adding pay2win into the game and a monthly sub. Wait 1.0 then revisit

they openly discussed p2w and that they wanna add a "wow token" system so that you can buy a token, sell it for a specific ingame amount of gold or get bonus stuff and all that. It is planned to be added idk if they change their minds. Subs, Wow tokens, cosmetic shop and purchasable plots are the plan to be implemented .

If u wanna do the usual, play solo dont talk to anyone, dont buy
if you wanna - join clan never interact with anyone, still play like solo
same issue.
you need a team for this game, the bigger the better.
Sadly at the moment there is no incentive for gameplay loop outside farming and crafting so most ppl are not playing atm.

At the moment there are many better games that you don't own and you will enjoy them more, for example enchrouded :) if you want to build and find a nice place to start your craft, you will gradually find out that having a famous game behind your name means nothing, unfortunately this game needs different management if it is to succeed because so much work is being done on things that are now unnecessary in the beginning. I personally don't trust them much. I enjoyed my money but the development of the game is a huge disappointment for me :)

I used to be interested in this game but not anymore....high price for a game with subscriptions, p2w aspects, losing everything because full wipe after early access and last but not least, now that I know it is made by people from EVE online....for me it is a no

But I recommend you to wait till it go out of EA

Buy it, its a great game to explore, build, craft and have fun. Totally open sandbox you make of it what you want. Do not listen to Darkon above there is no p2w aspect in this game since there is no store not sure what hes referring to. I suggest getting in while on sale. learning the game and how to play. Buy the small 2 plot version you can upgrade at anytime.

We refer to the open statements from the devs that they want to add all this stuff later on 1.0 and beyond. SO if you get the game you need to expect to not have access on 1.0 due to subscription and if you pay for sub then you need to deal with p2w
Malugor Dec 27, 2024 @ 6:30am
Im making the decision to wait for 1.0 or atleast confirmation that there wont be p2w in the future. Thanks everyone for your answers. (Fyi i knew of the subscription/ possible p2w plans beforehand so knowing that the game is better with a group as well which i dont have a group interested in playing it atm, ill just wait) I like drax's point, theres plenty of other games that i wont have to go ask in the discussions to see if its worth getting first, ill just know.

Depends if you enjoy being scammed and giving your money away.

Some people get off to that and they're the only ones left

That's the last person I would listen to, for anything. Dude isn't grounded in reality at all.
