Nvidia GTX 950
Anyone running this on a GTX 950 card? Yeah, potato card from before you were born, and of course I expecting minimal everything, but is the game even able to run? decently? at something like 720 resolution? Thanks

Based on your other post somewhere, I guess , too, your daddy preferred you out of his hair

I bett your graphic card is not your only problem, your old CPU and little RAM too.

Hi, I'm currently running the game with a GTX970 4GB / 16GB DDR4 RAM and an I7 6600K processor (bought over 8 years ago). For your information, the game set to minimum runs at 10 fps with lags of course. You will only be able to farm quietly or build, kill a few beasts. Exploration will be limited but doable, you have to take your time and be aware that you are playing with 10 fps :) (time to have a better RTX graphics card for example :) )

A gtx 979 is nearly 100% stronger then a 950...

And if you are already at 10fps, he will be at below 1fps

Especially if he has the 950 with only 2GB VRAM (it looks like there was also one with 4GB). And we don't know the CPU/RAM, this can also slow down things.

You would be able to farm quietly apart from farming is not in the game and will not be for a while at least!

And why would you attempt to run the game on a 950.... the answer to the OP is a big NO.

Because power to caps.

Thanks, this and Caduryn' reply have made it clear, it'd be wasted money to buy the game and even try. My PC is old, maxed out on everything except video card, AMD CPU comparable to one mentioned, 16GB but DDR3, good SSD...in short it needs complete overhaul to get actual and that's about 2k I'd rather not spend on this.

2 mitigating factors, that might make the game somewhat workable (hopeful thinking)
- the display is also old ( :D) so much less to compute than a full HD or 4k or whatever, and that could mean more fps
- tweaking the config files (have seen guys disabling any grasses, so there have to be other eye-candy that can be disabled...probably)

You can also upgrade in steps, first a new graphic card, even when you run into the CPU limit it should be still better as your 950. Maybe you also need for that a stronger power supply and also a bigger case, but even todays graphic cards still run on such an old PC.

Than later upgrade CPU, Mainboard and RAM (mostly needed to be upgraded together). After that later you add a m.2 SSD (I think you will have a SATA SSD) and anywhere in between a new monitor. That would part the expensive costs into smaller pieces.

But yeah, if you want to buy all new at once and you can not change hardware by your own it will be expensive.

The answer you are looking for is Geforce Now. You can play Pax Die soon (TM) via the cloud based platform. That is the only way you will be able to play on a toaster like yours.

It would take roughly 100 months of £20 a month payments to cost £2000 of a PC. I have tried the free version with Manor Lords and it was a good experience.

Yes, a 950 according to what we have read would not be enough. It is really better that you buy a new PC but at 1500 dollars you will have something good and will already be quiet for a while. As for me, I will wait to change my PC too :) , there the game runs weakly, it helps me out, that's already something ^^ Where I am surprised, despite my limited configuration and my 970GTX 4GB, my GPU temperature is at 75% and CPU at 70 ... Surprising that it does not heat up more.
