what is the difference between RP and regular servers?

Server wise nothing just how the player base acts in each other the RP server expects u to RP in server.

Eh. When I was a kid, I loved RP. The only "MMOs" back then were MUDs and MUSHes, and I never RPed on THOSE, but quite often went to those early 90's web-based chatrooms to instead. Nowadays I can't see it as anything but cringe.

So while I don't appreciate RP myself, I can easily see how it would appeal to others.

And that is why there is a RP server. You couldn't have made it any clearer why it exists. Many player are not used to it and find it so strange or even annoying. But that also depends on the RP player itself, because not all RP is the same.

And especially on Pax Dei there are a lot of RP players. There are some clans which play RP and some gave at least RP players a home, so RP is optional. Also some normal players like it more to play on a RP server, because there are often more casual and friendly players.

But I can say how it is there actually, not playing on a RP server yet, but was an option.

pax dei was BUILT for rp. it's almost baked into the game itself. it's a fun hobby that can seriously sharpen your writing and social skills (this has been studied~)

The RP server is a blast, the community I have met, which is quite active is amazing. I wouldnt play on any other server.

If RP inst your thing? Stay away, poor attitudes is not needed.
If a little RP is your thing? Jump in, there are a lot of friendly communities to join.

no diffrence really. just a diffrence in how serious people are.
calling yourself something like "cheesegrater" or anything non RP will get you bullied off of there.
people will act like they have no idea what you are talking about when you say you are going to eat a hamburger.

basicly people get offended and pissy when you break character for a minute.
not all of them. but some do.. wich is why i don't go near any RP server.

in my experience, the RP servers generally far, far outlasted the pvp servers.. and eventually, the pvpers migrated to where the content was.. they cohabited with the RPers, and guess what came of that? RPing PVPers and PVPers RPing, lol. For real though, even though its designated RP, that doesn't make it mandatory at all times.. lol. Rpers also tend to build real big ridiculous castles and fill warehouses with armor and weapons by proxy of just enjoying the game at their pace. almost like, the perfect place for Pvpers to hang out and get access to all that content without having to trudge through that whole part of the game designed around creating it.. i donno, results may vary.. lets see how pax comes along.
