Diversity is NOT about gender or skin tone...it is about ensuring everyone has an even footing in terms of employment. For so long it was CIS, Hetero, White men who had all the jobs and power. Now, it is about who is most qualified, regardless of skin color or gender. However, if two applicants are equally qualified for the role, yes the deciding factor could very well be the person who is female or of a different skin tone.
White men are so frightened of DEI because they don't understand it and choose to not understand but rather knock it and blame it for all their woes. And I am a white man, just FYI.
