Plots of Land
So I was looking through the fine print and saw for $129 Canadian you get 4 plots of land though in the fine print their is nothing saying this carries over just your characters...

So for the extra money, you get the use of the plots for early access and then when it starts you have to buy a different subscription at a potentially much higher price to keep the 4 plots?

Is this accurate ?

so what you are paying 100bucks for is 1 year trial of your big landgrab, then when it kicks live they want a 20-30 bucks a month for you to keep you stuff alive and well? with ofc some season pass and cosmetics shop with the following FOMO timers on offers we all know and love? :) this thing will be great :O

Welcome to Live Service Subscription gaming where the gamer gets screwed in EA and after the game goes live :steamfacepalm:
Some people just have to waste their money somehow... The good news is that is optional.

Wait and see, the "game" is not running away. Give this thing a month or more, and watch. Can buy later if you like what is happening.

I for sure won't buy a land to have to work it. I should be paid instead, if I have to work.
Truth is nobody knows, they have yet to release details if the sub will be one price for any land tier, or different prices per tier.

That's why I am still not preordering yet. I am willing to buy the 4 plot package, but not if it costs more to maintain than the 1 plot package, 1 is plenty enough really, just build a sky scraper.

The details are still in flux, but more land will mean higher maintenance (sub).

Understandable, guess I'll just buy the cheapest option then :steamsad:

You are of course not tied to the amount of plots in your EA pack, you can maintain fewer plots when the sub kicks in at full launch.

In any case safest to get the cheapest option now, you can always upgrade later if you want more plots for the EA duration

I apologize if I misunderstand this due to some language barrier -- Are you saying that your company might INCREASE the monthly fee based on how many players build homes?

So basically if you are a solo player, you will pay dramatically more than if you are in a large group of people and everyone gets one plot.

You will lose allot of folks based on this model that enjoy building solo and grouping for dungeons.

Theres no maybe. The release info clearly says monthly sub fee will be based on how many plots of land you have.

I missed that. The way the Dev worded that though sounds like the fee could change for everyone based on the number of players total -- Dynamic subscription pricing.

Example: One month is $10 but next month could be $11, etc.

Why would they care if they lose people not willing to pay?

Honestly 1 plot is enough, I've come to terms with the fact I'll just build a massive tower to skybox height limit.

Still, they better hurry up and work out sub price ASAP, buying a game without knowing the sub price is an INSANE ask

Ohh, I definitely did not mean that the price would depend on the overall amount of land, just on how much of it you want to reserve for yourself. Sorry if I was unclear :)

Sound good, I will not put too much effort into the game in Early Acces but I will enjoying playing and testing, probabely make a review few 50-100 hour play time.

Wait wait wait wait wait I am going to need to pay real money to use the basic features in the game after I already paid for the box price and on top of that the price can change and will not be consent??? So like the big selling point is being able to make a house/castle/shop/w.e and in order to do that we are going to have to pay for land in the game and not just like a regular monthly sub price like say wow???

I have no issues paying a monthly sub its just old school mmo style that fine for me but you want me to pay a sub which price can change and wont be constant? and my sub price will increase if I want more "land" to use basic game functions?

I must not be getting this right. SWG had an open world(multiple planets) with multiple plots like 25 years ago and they did the standard box price plus a monthly fee(that never changed). SWG being in my opinion the best MMORPG ever made before SOE went and destroyed it with WoW like garage.

I must be not understanding this right ain't no way thats actually what there going to do. I was really looking forward to this game if this is true its kinda sad. MMO's are really dying.
