[TLDR] Everything About Early Access
Here is the TLDR for people who do not follow the game on a daily basis.
All information comes from direct developer quotes, no rumors here.

Game packages:
Journeyman: €39.99
Artisan: €59.99
Master: €99.99

- The game will have a subscription-based system after early access. Meaning: You pay monthly for each plot of land you want to maintain. If you don't continue your sub, your land, and buildings will be deleted.
- The plots you buy with the higher tier founder packs are only for early access. You must pay for each after the early access, regardless of your founder pack.
- There will be no discounts during the early access period.
- The game will NOT have regional pricing at launch.
- The game's current state is not very different from the Alpha 2 test build.
- There will be wipe(s) during the early access and before the 1.0 launch.
- You will keep the founder's pack recipes after the 1.0 launch.
- Items crafted with the founder's pack recipes are tradable in the game.
- There are no plans to clean unused plots of land during the early access.
- The game will remain in Early Access until June 2025 (Possibly longer)
- The game has PVP (Full loot) but is restricted to a single zone currently.
- Plans are to have PVP enabled on the whole world going forward.

This thread will be updated as soon as we know more.

The subscription pricing is not yet finalized, but you can guess that it will be roughly between €10-20 (Dev mentioned that $4/month is a very low price)
Dev team compares the pricing model to World of Warcraft. Whether the game compares to WoW is debetable.

I used to pay a monthly for FF11 way back when...
idk now though - I dislike paying monthly..
but I might for this?

The main game setting which may or may not be comparable to this one is:
Wurm Online..
and it has a interesting means of paying for a plot of land..

But can do well enough - ofc not the realistic graphics environment of this -
but the Neverwinter Enhanced would be fine for me -
depending what I think of the price and if my community would get into Pax Dei

Anyhow, I did get the master package -
We'll see..

Comparing this to any other MMO is funny. It just not worth the price tag, plain and simple.
They wanted feedback, a lot of people warned them that this game was no where near ready for an early access. Yet they are releasing the same alpha 2 build with a 40€ price tag.
If you aren't gonna listen to feedback, don't ask for it?

Many people want to join the game and play it while we develop, and we can't really develop the massively multiplayer social parts *properly* until there are players in the game. It's a win-win!

If you feel the game is not yet at the level you want, we heartily recommend you don't buy now and wait for a later date in the EA or until the full release.

Receiving feedback on something does not automatically mean we need to act as the feedback says. It means we should re-evaluate, and the end result from re-evaluating might be to continue as originally planned. We are following our own vision after all.

If multiple people give the same feedback would you guys not take that into consideration as needing to re-evaluate? Vision changes for games all the time.

That was exactly what I was trying to say, apologies if I wasn't clear. If many people give the same feedback that means "we should re-evaluate" not "we should do that". Re-evaluating does not mean making a change, it means evaluating the situation again. This was in response to the poster equating "why do you not listen to feedback" with "why do you not follow the feedback".

From developers point of view, the game should be made also for those who wait "until the full release" and cannot give feedback.

From players point of view, it is frustrating when those who want to help during Early Access see the game going into a different direction.

Edit:
If I do not join during Early Access, how will developers know why I don't and what they should change to make me want to play?

Good points! You can also give feedback e.g. here, but the feedback section in our Discord is probably the best. You do not need to be in Early Access to leave feedback there.

classic pay to win - thats me out
Cosmic Jun 5, 2024 @ 9:53am
I honestly don't mind paying for a game and paying for a monthly subscription if its worth it and meaningful new content is added along the way.
What I do mind is when games start pay-walling certain parts of the game behind tiered subscriptions, having certain game features locked behind different amounts of payment is a huge red flag, it should be 1 subscription price for everyone with equal access to everything for everyone. Having 'premium' access to gameplay when you are already charging a base game price and a basic monthly fee is not gonna fly.
