Adventurers not buying gear?
Something I've noticed, adventurers do have funds, shops have gear, yet they retain old and massively outdated gear. Any reason for that?

Over time some do, others don't. And they seem to hold onto pieces of trash gear for a very long time quite often. I've seen almost entirely epic adventurers walk around with a grey weapon. Feels bad man. :(

Why not manual equip for them ?

Because I have roughly 20 settled ones, and a huge number of roving. Also that way I make no money.

I look at it as if I was a community manager for a MMORPG. Sometimes players be dumb yo. I gift my favorites to keep them useful.

I can think of some possibilities:

1) their low tier gear actually have better "scores" (possible as they only judge by score, and the score function may not be optimized). in fact, they "downgrade" some times.

2) tourists bought up the stuff? (can be workaround if you set up unlimited sales -- auto-production + auto-refill stock)

3) they don't have time off (e.g. did you lock them into bounties after bounties they they don't have time to shop?)

I find that armor at least, will eventually be bought and used (but it takes a long time with an auto-setup). Weapons though seems slower (and the kiv weapons that nobody uses like one-handed sword/hammers will not get sold).

Yea it's been best for me anyways to focus everyone on one or two weapon pairings. Polearms and staff seem best. I personally just do staff however int armor is less abundant than strength. Agility and int seem to crop up less for me anyways. Mounts I do anything over 300 int on my mages and upgrade from there. I generally have maintenance center bang out like 25 refining shops so I can just use 2 on entrust and then fill the gap. You can do three as well in a pinch. Mounts plus the stat focus of 300 or more in your desired will pump the adventurers up big time. Excluding collections of course which are nice. I really wish we could get more slots on reincarnate pad. Once you get to a certain level it just becomes a pita.
