How to play settlers online

when i purchased this CD about 5 months ago in store all i had to do was install it, run it go to online make an account and i was done: however i just re-bought it on steam (due to my disc breaking) i have not been able to play online every time i try it tells me there is a possible network and then the program dies. i don't know if this is poor programming on steams part or if an update has changed the specification to play online? either way i was very disappointed and hope they fix this soon

I too have a problem getting it to play online. Before I even get where you do it tells me that my connection to the online network has been lost

I too have a problem getting it to play online. Before I even get where you do it tells me that my connection to the online network has been lost

I was forced to spam the button to get it to connect, if that doesnt work make sure its being allowed through your firewall (if you have one).

i buyed this game on steam about 1 year ago, i play rarely this game but i didn't find anyone on the server.... before purchasing this game on steam i had the original CD (unfortunately lost) and i remember i played a couple of matches online

so does anyonwe know why we cant connect and play online settlers ? because if read alot of people having this problem but nobody has any idea whats wrong?

maybe this game is no longer supported online because played by few people (and servers have a big cost too)

Severs have been dropped but you might be able to find a side company that supporsts it or might be able to still play with friends not sure game ranger says they want to put them back on line but havent yet

Anyone know if Hamachi or Tunngle work with Lan

The best method to play The Settlers in online multiplayer is using GameRanger. It has a lot of ads but the software does the job.
