Can i play on Windows 10

loved this game a few years ago and want to start playing again.
the requirements look a bit sketchy to me. im running windows 10 does anyone know if that will be an issue

It doesnt work for me on Windows 10. Got the graphics issue.
Would love to hear if anyone got it fixed? I did the Nvidia thing but it doesnt work.

I know that GOG has it updated to Windows 10. I actually found a forum once that was hosting the files that you just copy and paste. The files were ripped from the actual GOG download. I own the DVD Gold version so I didn't want to buy it again. Those files were a big help. Oh, you can't actually do anything with the zip file other than add it to your installation, it doesn't contain anything but the game exe file for the Main game and the Expansion. They are completely useless without having the game already installed on your system. I think I forced mine to install in compatability mode "Windows XP". Running it was giving me a video memory error so I searched that issue and found those files. If I can find it again I'll try to update you.

Les jeu fonctionne normalement sur Windows 8, vous pouvez trouver une solution je pense, mais j'aimerais surtout savoir si cela marche sur Windows 10, car le jeu posséde un DRM et Windows 10 nous protége de cela ... Si quelqu'un sais si cela marche avec Windows 10 (si vous avez une solution avant mon achat) prévenez moi s'il vous plait, merci !

The games run normally on Windows 8, you can find a solution I think, but I would especially like to know if it works on Windows 10, car the game has a DRM and Windows 10 protects us from this ... You just need to replace the application with a new one. You will keep all your settings & savegames.

Just replace the file "Settlers6.exe" (it is in the bin folder of the game folder, in Steam something like \SteamApps\common\Settlers\bin or \Settlers\base\bin) with the new one. I got a download link below, it are under 8MB.

I recommend keeping the old .exe and just renaming it in case something goes wrong.

PS: I can't gurantee that it works with the steam version and I sadly only got an old CD-version. It is also possible that it wokrs with the expansion ("Eastern Realm") which is included in the Gold edition, but I sadly can't test that either."

Bonjours à tous, j'ai commencer une campagne dans The Settler 6 et je n'est rencontrer aucun problème, tous va bien. Juste un petit soucis au début où j'ai dû relancer le jeu 1 fois. Sinon aucun soucis !

Je voulais te demander des nouvelles si ca tourne bien. Car mes deux tentatives d'installation ces deux dernières années sur deux de mes PC ont été infructueuses (Une sous Vista, et une autre sous windows 8). J'ai encore le CD d'installation mais je pensais l'acheter ici, p-t qu'il y a eu des améliorations depuis mon achat...

Salut, je n'est pas eu de problème avec le jeu sauf au début (au lancement du jeu) où j'ai malheureusement crach pour je ne sais quel raison ^^ Mais sinon je n'est pas de soucis !! ;)

PS : si vous avez le jeu en CD alors vous pouvez le relié à steam, ceci vous éviterez de le racheter. ;) Après c'est comme vous voulez. :)

Oh et n'oubliez pas que je fonctionne avec windows 10, donc je ne sais pas si sur les autres windows cela fonctionne encore.

Mine used to work perfectly fine but now everytime I try to launch it from steam all I get is the "unable to initialize graphics engine" message- i've tried all different compatibility modes and resolutions, creating shortcuts but nothing has worked so far. On the Nvidia control panel i've selected 'use global settings high performance nvidia processor' (although i've tried the other two options and they didn't work either).
I'm running on a Windows 10 (used to work on 8.1) 64 bit, Geforce GT 630M with 8G RAM. My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite P840 and not too old. Anyone have a solution?

Tout ce que je peux vous dire c'est que j'ai un Ordinateur fixe (une tour) et que j'ai réussi à jouer au jeu sans touché à aucun paramètre. Et cela sous Windows 10.
Cela est peut être dû au fait que vous avez un ordinateur portable, peut être. ^^
Je ne peux pas vous aider d'avantage, je suis désoler ... Pour moi, tout à fonctionner correctement.

All I can tell you is that I have a Fixed Computer (a tower) and that I managed to play the game without touching any parameters. And this under Windows 10.
This may be due to the fact that you have a laptop, may be. ^^

I used to be able to play it on the same laptop just a few months ago so i'm not sure if it was during the windows 10 update that changed something.
I think my GPU driver needs an update but it could just be that my memory might not be able to handle it anymore.
I'm pretty stumped on this one!
I'll keep looking for answers but thanks for the suggestion anyway!

GOG version Works on Win 10 Plus it has the Graphics fix.
