Countdown spells
I was just in an amazing run but got locked out by rainfall which sucks. My strategy was to add concoction then continually cast crush which has unrestorable charges. However, Rainfall and other passive countdown reduction effects, autocast the spell when countdown gets to 0 and this used my unrestorable charges of crush at the start of the round before I'm able to play my concoction. This led to me not being able to play any damage as crush was my only source of damage and was thus locked out of progressing in the run. I had enough output to generate infinite block but couldn't get out of the fight. I suggest that when countdown ticks to 0 by way of a passive effect like rainfall the spell should become castable for free but shouldnt autocast as it can lead to situations like the one I just had. That run was awesome too. Im a little salty tbh

Yeah, combos with concoctions and unrestorable spells are great (way too strong in fact) and I feel that it is only fair that one needs to pay attention to getting lock out by countdown spell being triggered "for free". At least this kind of limitation is good to have for the otherwise too strong combos.
So I actually vote to restrict these things even more (infinity combos are way too frequent for my taste). Sorry, Trick ;-)

I had a simular problem with the Ether dice - All my spells would trigger at the start of the round. The problem with that is i had the Lifesteal ritual and depended on that instead of more block, but could never activate it.
An option to use a ritual at the start of round or have the spells store up the charges so you can then use them manually for free. You can't even cancel the spell.
I was on the last boss, 3rd phase which is more annoying.

agreed, free cast (or 0 cost cast) instead of auto cast would be a good solution. I've had times where several countdown spells all hit 0 at the same time but I had no choice in what order to play them which was a bit frustrating as I was getting things like having to play my damaging spell before the spell that would have buffed it and having the buff go to waste.
